Hi. After looking at the specs of your tower, the Celeron cpu you have runs at a slow 533 MHz FSB speed and is a single core processor. The good news is that your motherboard is designed to handle an intel Pentium D Dual Core CPU 900 series. Your motherboard uses a type Socket T plug (CPU Plug type). The processors name is The Pentium D 920. Have Fun.

I don't believe it is possible with this particular laptop. I know in the past some of the dell laptops have had a Microagp graphics platform that can be upgraded.

Most laptops have the graphics built into the motherboard which makes them impossible to upgrade.

There used to be some PCMCIA video cars that you could use but they were more for using additional monitors than for high powered graphics. I believe there have been some mention of USB video cards but again I think these are just for adding more desktop real estate than for replacing existing built in graphics.

So to answer your question specifically, no I don't think there is an upgradeable option for your particular needs.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Vidoe Card

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it is highly likely that you have just fried your whole computer. Most Dell computers use a proprietary power supply which means that the voltage running from the pins on the motherboard power connecter are different from the standard pc designation. This is a necessity, because their motherboards are of their own manufacture. This is why if you don't buy a power supply from Dell, you must buy a converter cable for the standard power supply in order to connect it to the motherboard. I would advise you to put the old power supply back in and hope that you still have a compy.

Another culprit could be the fact that you are using dual channel memory, and the new stick you inserted doesn't match the mhz speed or size of ram in MB or GB of it's neighbor.

Another reason is that you have not gone into your BIOS and told the system to run from the pci-e 16 slot

Best Graphics Card For intel core2duo 1.80 ram 2.5GB

I have found graphics cards to be pretty generic. I'm currently using an nVidia GEForce 9800 GT. I'm happy with it. The question is which game are you trying to play. Look on the box for the specifications for a video card. Get one with a lot of video RAM so take the video processing load off your processor.

I have Nvidia Geforce 9500 GT graphics card ...I recently bought my system...4 GB corsair ram....1 TB hard disk...400 W Cooler master PSU...Classic intel H55 motherboard...Still when play Gta or NFS hot...

How can I state this politely?

The Nvidia GeForce 9500GT is a definite step up from using Integrated Graphics.
No debate needed there.

But it only has 32 Stream Processors.

Think of Stream Processors as a 'Graphics Information Highway'.
They are essentially the lanes of the highway.
The more lanes you have, the more graphics information can be transferred from the graphics card to the Processor, and vice-versa.

Having 32 Stream Processors is like having a 'Bottleneck' in the road.
Equate that to a roadblock put up for road construction, where 8 lanes are dwindled down to 1 lane.
Traffic slows down.

This is seen when using intense games. Frame rates drop down, the game freezes, and graphics are poor unless on low settings. (Or not at all)

Here, take a look at Evga's version of the Nvidia GeForce 9500GT graphics card.
Read the Specifications at the bottom, watch the video.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4111742&CatId=3669

However!
A decent graphics card shouldn't 'Break the Bank'.

You don't need a $500 graphics card to slam those games.
You might want to look into an Nvidia GeForce GT 240 graphics card.

96 Stream Processors.
512MB of DDR5 graphics ram memory. (That's DDR5)
550MHz Core Clock
1340MegaHertz Shader Clock
3588MHz Memory Clock

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5516908&CatId=3669

Better than that?
Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 Superclocked.
1024MB of DDR5 graphics ram memory.
192 Stream Processors.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6655890&CatId=3669

For the above two graphics cards you need a decent power supply.
IF, the power supply you have DOES produce an honest maximum wattage of 400 Watts,
AND has at least 30 Amps on the 12 volt power rail. (Or 12 volt power rails), you're okay.

I would recommend an OCZ StealthXStream 2 / 600 Watt power supply though, when you can afford it.
It can produce over 700 watts if kept at a temperature of 48.4 degrees Celsius.
(119.12 degrees Fahrenheit )
Has FOUR 12 volt power rails that can supply up to 18 Amps EACH.
(Total of 72 Amps)

Has all the power cables you'll need, plus ones for the above graphics cards.
(Can handle them with NO sweat)

I want some information about Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT 1GB DDR 2

If you are using Dual Core the mother board you are using may have PCI Express Slot. So that you may install Graphics card. Only for particular lower end mother board doesn't have this feature. Any way tell me your motherboard make and model no. e.g., Intel DG31PR, 945GNT, DG41TY etc.,

Assuming you mean a bad framerate and not actual 'lag', the problem would appear to exist in your processor, as it is old and outdated. and only just fits the minimum requirements to RUN THE GAME, not run the game well.
