Water puddles front left of side by side ge profile fridge

Solution offered on this site was to unclog the drain hole and pour hot water down it until it drained into the drain pan. Question: where is the drain pan and where does water go from the drain pan? I have tried unclogging the hole and it just fills up again.

If you clear the drain, the water will not fill up again. (try hot, but not boiling, water, forced into the drain hole with a turkey baster) When drain is clear, water will run into the drain pan located near the compressor. The fan will cause that water to evaporate.

There is a huge puddle of water under the front of the fridge ,this unit doesn't have an ice maker what could this be ?

The drain is clogged. You will have to remove the back wall of the freezer to access the drain. There is a hole under the coils, that is th drain. Remove the ice on top of the drain and clean the drain out by forcing hot water down the drain with a turkey baser untill water flows freely. Then mix baking soda with water and pour it down the drain. http://www.appliance-repair-it.com/refrigerator-leaking.html

GE Profile leaking onto floor

Clean the drain pan and drain line in the back of the freezer section behind the cover underneath the evaporator coil. (hint: use turkey baster with hot water) Make sure water drains when you pour it in. If it doesn't - also clean drain tube on the back of the unit behind the cover. When done - put the tube exactly where it was.
Good luck! :)

PTC22MFM - need to unclog defrost drain?

Normally, this is a job for an appliance service company. However, turn off the refrigerator and remove the rear freezer panel. Once removed you should see a drain hole. Apparently, water does not drain properly. Use an extended coat hanger, etc. to place down into the drain hole with "up and down motions". Periodically, pour a small amount of water into the drain hole until it appears to be unclogged. Then follow up with some hot water and liquid bleach (perhaps a cup full). This should kill any algae, etc. and remove any other foreign objects from the drain line. If you pour too much liquid into the drain hole you may get an overflow at the bottom of the refrigerator (there is a small drain pan underneath the appliance that catches the water during the defrost cycle. Yet, the water collected in the drain pan, during the defrost cycle, typically evaporates and you should never have to regularly empty the drain pan. Good luck!

My GE Profile Side By Side Refig is freezing up in the bottom. I saw one solution regarding the drain plug, but how do I actually clear the drain? Sticking a close hanger down it? And where does the water...

melt it out with hair dryer, slime builds up in the drain i use a steamer to clean out the drain line,if you have apiece of hose or something you can stick over or into the hole and blow it through or a compressor, you can try pouring hot water down the drain hole, sometime it's just ice in there or a plastic wire tie,i wouldn't stick anything metal down there alot of the lines are plastic, whatever you try to do to clear the drain just pour hot water down the hole and if it drains you'll know you cleared it hope this helps

Water leakage from underneath front of fridge and/or freezer. Ice build up on floor on freezer. Drain pan overflowing? Drain hole appears iced also. Can poke wire down 8" but water isn't draining...

The drain hose is probably clogged with a pea or some kind of food etc. Try pouring boiling water down the hose, or a hair dryer if that doesn't work, or let it warm up until you can pour water down and it comes out into the pan at the bottom. Make sure that the hose is free of dirt etc

Pull out fridge to see the pan, disconnect the POWER..

Water leaking out of the bottom of my ge refrigerator.is there a tray that I need to empty? cannot locate one.

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. First thing this a.m. we discovered a puddle of water on the floor on the left side of the fridge. This is not the first time....so we are wondering what is causing this? I am guessing about the profile #...

You have a plugged defrost drain.
Unplug refrig. Unload freezer. Remove shelves. Take back panel out of freezer. Use a turkey baster with hot (not boiling) water to flush water in the area of the defrost drain hole until it is clear and water will run through it into the defrost drain pan under the refrig. The drain is a hole about the size of a nickel, usually in the very back center, below the cooling coils. You can use the turkey baster to force water into and eventually through the drain hole. Remove ice from floor of freezer.
Re-assemble, refill freezer, and plug in. Now, when your refrig defrosts, the water will go out the drain instead of onto the freezer floor and out the freezer door onto your floor.

Water puddle under fridge

sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine

Water leaking - GE Profile Refrigerator, Model: TPX21PRX

Check to see if the drain at the bottom of your freezer is plugged. When the refrigerator goes on defrost, the water has to go somewhere. Look below the coils in the freezer section and see if there is ice in the drain.
