Our balboa spa just stopped running out of the blue while we were using it...it tripped the gfi. GFI is good any suggestions?

GFI tripping is caused by an excess of electrical current between the device and the ground connection. The heater and pump should be on separate GFI circuits. Check to see which device is causing the fault and have it repaired or replaced.

Leisurebay spa with Balboa controls.Just wired it up 240v.as soon as i flip the breaker it trips.disconnected wires from pump relay and connected them together, now the breaker stays and the pumps will

make sure the spas control panel is set for 230v next check the GFIC it might be faulty. AS A TEST ONLY you can bypass the gfi af all works, try another GFI. but this doesn't rule out.. shorted motor, heater or even a light ..

My catalina spa keeps popping the breaker and won't turn on

First, we have to establish what you mean by turn on the unit. Is the GFCI breaker set on when you try to turn the "unit" on? What are you activating to turn the "unit" on? A switch, a disconnect, a button on the topside controller, etc.? Need clarification before we proceed to diagnose. At what level do you understand electricity? Is there a licensed electrician available?

Please answer and we will take it from there. OK?

Catalina spa

When the control panel does not light up this means the panel is not working and needs to be replaced.

Colman Spa trips GFI what is most common problem? GFI test good. Pump disconnected still trips, is heater most likely? Can you replace only heater? thanks

this should be simple ...
1.shut off the power
2.disconnect wires to heating element
3. turn power back on and see if it works if so replace heating element 45-95 dollars

if it still trips unplug all the cables from the pumps blower ozonators and see if it runs now,,,, if so plug each cable back (one at a time) until it trips again.if it trips that the problem pump etc.

99 percent of the the time its not the gfi its a device that is wet or shorted out ..Try everything else before replacing the gfi

Our hot tub keeps tripping the gfi breaker, but if we don't put it on a gfi then it works fine. How do you fix this

The GFI is sensing a fault, and tripping to protect you. If there is another GFI in the circuit somewhere then you could use that normal receptacle. I mean if there is a GFI in the main panel.

GFI 'shorted'

load neutral connects to the neutral binding screw on the GFI, do NOT connect the load neutral to the neutral bar.
