SOURCE: PC wont boot
make bios clear
you have a jumper in your mainboard that do that.
second make sure you are using the same speed of the ram and that speed do not surpass your computer capability speed. you told that you proved ram in another computer is the same model?
if not look how much speed they have (bus speed)
some times the labels in the ram is not apropriate so chek you self in the other computer how is the true speed of new ram taht you take.another problem is that your pc maybe does not support dual channel. any way do what i say to you begining with bios clearing after that put your old ram again to see if is working or not. if yes make sure how is your new ram bus speed ,and if is the samme type so you can tray to put again. write back if problem is solved or not. i can give somme other sugestions
SOURCE: I have a Compaq Presario, model #: SR2150NX memory problem
Well in a weird situation like the one you have, i suggest inserting one of them into the Memory Bank 2 slot. After that, start up your Computer and shut it down. If it says you have 1GB then that's good. After that, put the other one in the free slot and start it up. I hope i helped, i can't think of what else would work for that.
Worst Comes to worst, just get the one that seems weird replaced with a new one from Best Buy. They should do it free of charge.
SOURCE: Compaq presario SR5510f will not power on. Ligt
You need to check your power supply for voltages. There is a line in the power supply called "power good" that needs to be looked at as well. when you state a light is on.. is it the network light? If the net cable is plugged in it will illuminate the light with no AC power sometimes.. FYI.
Thanks!

Have you checked to make sure that the boot order is correct in the BIOS?
