Does the front light stays green ? Or goes back to red ? The back-light going on/off maybe the problem, but it shoul return with a red blinking led (4 times ?) and if so it can be a power inverter problem.
There seem to be a problem inside the unit, that is why the television stays blank.
The cause most likely is a bad capacitor on either the main panel or the power panel.
Unplug the television for about 2 hours, then you unscrew it open, assess the main panel and the power panel, you will see a bad capacitor on one of them, then you solder it off from the tip then resolder a new capacitor to the panel, reassemble the television back together and it will be in good condition once again.
Last DS I had that did this was fried and I binned it. I tried all sorts of motherboard repairs but it just didn't affect anything. If it's that new just send it back for replacement.
One of four things happen when these lcd's get power problems. 1. They either go completely dead[no power with no lights] 2. Little green light will blink and go back to red with dtv briefly showing and then the tv screen go blank 3. Same as # 2, but with screen staying blank. The fourth is extremely rare, which is a shorted panel that makes the tv set behave like it's getting no power. All signal a bad tv, and the fourth is not usually repairable, requiring a whole new panel. I hear that power flows thru the panel, so that would explain how sometimes it will short out.
When tv and ps3 backswitch turned on hold down the front power button
when off until the ps3 has done a double beep after the intitial beep
and wait for a max of 1 min and initial set up screen should appear
power pack capacitors have failed they will need to be replaced with new ones and that should repair the tv, soldering skill is required to do this or replacement of the entire power pack. hope this helps
yeah, should stay red when unit is turned off, indicating there's power but it's doing nothing.
Per user manual:
Solid red - power off (standby mode)
blinking red - power off (now cooling)
blinking green - power on (preparing to light lamp)
solid green - power on
This problem has happened to me before turn the gps unit over and clean off the gold colored conductors on the bottom take a paper clip and touch the 1st and 4th pins together this resets the unit be sure it is the 1st and 4th pins on the opposite side of the little power connector though.
