I use SMS Popup (from the Play Store) for repeating text message reminders. It has other functions, but I primarily use the 'reminder' options. I'm not sure if you could (or should) do 5 to 10 second intervals as it would probably kill your battery. I think that 1 minute is the minimum. I guess you could also use a notification sound that is longer. You could even record your own. I once recorded myself coughing and used it as the notification.

I fixed my problem by going to SETTINGS then performing a firmware update then turning off the phone and powering it up again. No problems since!
SOURCE: no text message sound alert. it still rings out
Go to settings and check "Event notification".
SOURCE: how do i change the text message alert?
By alert you mean the Tones of the Incoming Messages:
Go to Menu--Settings--Phone Profiles--Click the Arrow next to the profile you have already been using--on the top You will see an arrow facing download (a drop down menu button)--click--select New Messages--on clicking the Message Alert Tone box you will see loads of tones that you would want to select--in case if you want any song or tone that you have on you mobile to be your default message alert--select "sounds" at the bottom--select the "arrow" on the top go to the directory where you have the tones..select it and "Add" and then click "Save"
Hope it helped...Let me know if there's any problem...
