Little Giant stopped working; makes hum noise but wont push wate

I have a submersible Little Giant. It stopped working a year ago and has been in my basement since. I just tried it again and it worked perfectly for about 15 min and then stopped again. It is NOT tripping the breaker and I can hear it making a humming noise. Any suggestions??

Can you take it out of where it is and clean it with vinegar? There may be calcium built up in it. I have one also on my aquarium and when I turn it off sometimes it won't start back up, just humms.. That tells me it's time to clean it.

This pump works off of a pressure switch. You can remove the cover on the switch located on the side of the pump. You can either buy a switch repair kit, or you can open it up and take a look and see if the diaphragm is sticking. If you remove and clean the parts, you may have some success. Or, just buy the switch repair kit from your local Little Giant dealer. Good luck!

My new Little Giant 8-CBA Pump is hooked up underwater and plugged in. Not a sound. Electricity is working. And it's the same pump we have had for the last 7 years.

You say it's new? On some pumps they will secure the float switch when shipping. Be sure you followed directions and removed anything that may interfere with the switch.

Little Giant pump WGP-90-PW trips GFI circuit

You might have 2 problems. The GFIC might be wired wrong or the pump wirng might be compromised with moisture. The noise issue? Are you running this unit without submersing it? They will burn out if you do. To get a more accurate running sound, submerse it with a flexible pipe so you can run it in a 5 gal bucket without losing the water.
It's possible a bearing is burned out.
