Hi there, Ive got issue with my Panasonic SA-DM3 home theatre system. Basically few minutes after I started it its start producing some unspecified noises and after that in few another seconds the sounds shut down but on the display you can see its still plaing. I thing Its overheating system, but the fan is always on. Can somebody help me out? Thanks a lot.
You should check all your connections to your speakers. Also check each speaker to make certain there are no shorts in them. Check all speaker wiring for shorts too.
If it continues to play up, then a overheating fault will probably be traced to the power amp section. With something getting so hot that it will need to be replaced.

The F61 is the shorthand for protect mode. This indicates a problem with the output amplifier section. I don't have a listing for your specific model, but a similar one HT95 lists IC501 as the output amp chip. Check for the marking on the large black IC attached to the heatsink it may be RSN311W. If so, this can be ordered using part number: RSN311W64D-P for $95.20 from tritronicsinc.com.
Hope this helps,
Dan

protection error message means that your unit's fan is not working
it is a feature to keep your unit from overheating
check if there is anything blocking the fan of your unit from rotating
if problem still persist replace the fan

You possibly took out the output ic by crossing speaker wires or touch one to the case when the other was in the terminal. (turn off and unplug when moving speaker wires)
Before taking it in remove all wires unplug power cord wait 30 seconds and plug just the power cord and turn on. If it still goes to f61 it's going to most likely need the output ic replaced.
$70-90 labor and about $100 for the part.
