Will not charge

I got a Nikon Cookpix S9500 for Christmas. I am having trouble getting it to charge. I plugged it in to charge, and the green light began to blink. It was plugged in for two days and never stopped blinking. I unplugged it, and plugged it back in, and it began to blink. It blinked for several hours, then stopped blinking. I thought it was charged. When I turned the camera on, it gave me the message "Battery Exhausted" then went off. The camera would not turn back on, and when plugged into the charger, it does nothing not...not even blink. Suggestions?

Sounds like you have a bad battery. Check your users manual for how to change it.

SOURCE: Battery EXTREMELY Exhausted

As the other person says Nimh rechargable batteries are the best....Also somewhere in the menu system you will find that you need to define which type of battery you are using, this may be the cause...Nikon UK have an excellent after care team if all else fails.

SOURCE: My Nikon Coolpix S3000 says

The rechargeable battery probably needs to be replaced, I would take it to a camera shop let him have a quick look to make sure the charge light is coming on and try a new battery.

SOURCE: Nikon D90 Memory Card Access Blinking

It's a deadly common problem of D90. Fixation:Simply go to the DSLR repair shop and ask them to change the power circuit board of the camera. Will take $60-70 if the board available. Reason of issue:The power control IC get short and feedback the battery power to the battery causing the draining out and other problem like the top LCD back lamp turned ON after turning on the camera. Careful:To avoid this issue in future, after full charge of the battery, do not put it in the camera right then. Wait for the battery to cool down for 5-10 min and then put it in. With the full charge, the battery hold high ampere for a short time. It could damage the power distributor IC suddenly if you put it in the camera right after a full charge. Cannot select the wi-fi network on

The Wi-Fi connection requires installing a Wireless Mobile Utility to the smart device prior to use. And the Utility must be On.
Compatible OSs: iOS 6.0 or later, Android 2.3 or later

The Wi-Fi connection will be disabled if:
  • The battery charge is low
  • A memory card is not inserted
  • An Eye-Fi card is inserted

Read page 16 of the manual. Do not use any other charger with this camera. Are you sure you have the battery inserted correctly? When trying to charge, does the green light blink? If so, when it stops blinking and turns off, the battery should be fully charged. Do not attempt to turn the camera on while the charger is trying to charge the battery.
