First I would try fresh paper from an unopened ****. You could have moisture in the paper.
Some toners have a tape that has to be removed from the toner before installing into the machine. On the 7272 series machine there was a problem with the gears on the back of the developing unit wearing out and not adding toner. The machine would have made a loud grinding/gear skipping noise prior to failure. If this occurred the seals on the developer unit have gone bad leaking developer into the gears and ruining them. The developer and the developer unit will have to be replace.
Another possibility is the Transfer corona wire has broken or is dirty. Open the two front doors, lower the center lever and pull out the transport unit. A little the the left of center you will see some black paper guides, and under those guides are two channels. There should be two hair thin wires in one channel and one wire in the other channel. The single wire is the transfer wire. Make sure it is clean and not broken.
