SATA drive position is determined by the plug on the motherboard, not a jumper. Jumper settings are for PATA drives (much older).

I assume you have two IDE controllers? IDE1 and IDE2, I'll try to help, the primary HD needs to have the pin set to primary and the secondary set to slave, if you're running both of these drives off of the same ribbon cable. You may have to go into your BIOS settings and check to make sure the Primary HD is the WD drive.

I need to know how to make model WD102AA-53ANA0 a slave. I am trying to move information on this hard drive.

Generally on a WD the center two pins is where the jumper goes for master with slave present. WD drives usually have it etched in the plastic SL, MA,CS.

Need master slave configuration

Hello,

You should have a jumper configuration written somewhere on the front (up) side of the hard Disk ... Look there, or look just around the Pins... Look for M, S, CS (Master, Slave, Cable Select)

I have found an oversight in your manual! regarding the jumper on wester digital drives. Do I put a jumper on both drives or just drive "D"

this is fixya, not western digital, but if you already have a drive fitted (C) this will be the master and the jumper set accordingly, if you have bought a second drive this will be the slave (D) or (E) dependant on drive letter allocation and the jumper set at slave
