Humidity sensor Think I have a bad humidity sensor. Room humidity shows 20 or 25% and will only go up if you take the cowling off and blow directly on it. It will go up for a minute or so then right back down to 20%. Lowest my set humidity option is 35%. According to Maytag tech this part is not available. (Fedders part) Any ideas? could I unplug from mother board and maybe have a continuous run?

It may be right. Are you sure you need dehumidification?

Put a free-standing humidity meter near the unit to check.

If you still want to run the dehum, take the humidity sensor out of the line and control the unit with a timer.

It could be bad or is could bee full of dirt and dust. Try cleaning it with a vacuum or a soft brush

I have a GQF 1502 incubator with digital control and the humidity number stays at 97 but when I put a hygrometer inside the unit it read 47, so what could be wrong.

There could be several reasons why the humidity reading on the digital control is not accurate. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Calibrate the hygrometer: The first thing to do is to make sure that the hygrometer you are using to measure the humidity is calibrated correctly. You can check this by placing the hygrometer in a sealed container along with a wet sponge or cloth for a few hours. The hygrometer should read close to 100% humidity. If it doesn't, then it may need to be calibrated.
  2. Check the humidity sensor: The humidity sensor in the incubator may be faulty or dirty. You can clean the sensor with a soft cloth or replace it if it is damaged.
  3. Check the water level: Make sure that the water level in the incubator is sufficient. If the water level is low, the humidity will be low as well.
  4. Check the ventilation: The ventilation in the incubator should be set to allow for proper air exchange. If the ventilation is not set correctly, it can affect the humidity level.
  5. Check the room conditions: The room conditions, including temperature and humidity, can affect the humidity level in the incubator. If the room is too dry, it can affect the humidity level in the incubator. You may need to adjust the dehumidifier or add a humidifier to the room to maintain the proper humidity level.

Fan always runs, speed doesnt change (low/high), setting humidity level doesnt impact...is this a control board or circuit board issue?

Verify the humidity reading with another device. Perhaps the humidity sensor is dirty or bad.

Another possibility is the switching device that runs the compressor and fan is shorted. If it's a mechanical relay, the contacts may have welded together, or if it's a solid-state relay, it's got a punch-through or meltdown in a device junction. My guess is it's a mechanical relay since you mention it used to click on and off and now you don't hear that. The relay may be on the control board, or it may be mounted separately - I don't have a photo or diagram of the inside of your model available.

Followed turn on instructions in manual.CO display 2 days. continually. Unit gets Very warm & fan runs if turned off. Have to unplug to stop. Unit used approx.3 mo in '14 & just restartd this week.

could you be mistaking the room humidity indicator for the time? reason I ask is on these one display units this happens more frequently than Id care it too , the one display shows both time and room humidity also set point humidity , the only way one can tell is on some models there is a tiny light that shows up next to labeled function , easy to miss It , also if your machine is sort of new (last few years) it has been decided that it's more efficient to let the circulation fan run all the time , regardless of room humidity . this makes it a little annoying (noise) but they do cycle the compressor to regulate the room humidity

I have a Lasko 1050. The sensor on my humidifier isn't sensing the humidity level correctly; how do I reset it, please? Thanks!

im in the suspicion that since you turned it upside down , some or possibly a lot of stored up water has gotten into the sensor section now , this might take several days of it running in what to remove and dry it all out , or might never recover as it's not a good idea to turn any item containing a gas compressor up side down , as this forces lube oils into the wrong places inside them
for the most part humidity sensors are not consumer (resettable)

Why wont it turn on?

if power is applied then display should show current room humidity , if set is pressed then display should show current set point for desired room humidity , this has to be less than first display otherwise the control will think room has acheeved desired setpoint and shut off , the one of these i had seemd to have an overly sensative collection bucket full sensor and had to be "just right" for unit to run

What setting should my Maytag be on.............Room Humidity or Room Temperature. I am getting no water in pail. I have Model number..........M7DH45B2A

If you want to remove humidity rather, than maintain what's in the household air at this time, You should lower the humidity setting well below what the LED readout shows. Usually 35 to 40% is the optimal setting.

Hope this helps you. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have a 50 series w/ digital humidity level readout. Recently unit reads the room at 30% humidity so it shuts off unless preferred setting is set to continuous. Can the sensors go bad that measure the...

If the humidity level is at or lower than 30%, the unit won't turn ON, until the reaches 35 - 40%. It's rare for the sensors to go bad. Just keep in mind, the dehumidifier is reading the humidity near the floor, not up at say, chest level. Humidity levels change every season, so this really would not be that unusual. Make sure that your clean the air intake filter regularly. Cleaning and wiping down the coolant coils would be a good idea, too..

Hope this helped you. Please let me know.

Dehumidifier Present % indicates "Hi"

It is showing high because the present humidity is above 80%. Try turning the humidity setting down and let the dehumidifier run for a while. Once the dehumidifier lowers the humidity in the room this level will go lower. If this persists after running for a while you will need to contact LG for service. They back these models with a 5 year warranty. Here is the number to contact them at:
