The subwoofer i have, a polk, connects directly to the right and left speaker lines of the klh2400.
i then connect my stereo left and stereo right speakers to the subwoofer.
essentially, the subwoofer becomes a middle station between my speakers.
make sense?

Trying to hook up a KLH sub woofer, S100ETH, PSW8-100 to a VCR reciever. Reciever has sub woofer connection but does not works on the KLH sub woofer. What is the problem ?

I suggest you go over your receiver set-up instructions. See if you need to set the receiver to acknolwedge the addition of the subwoofer. It should be in your receiver set-up steps. Just as a check, hook up one of your other speakers to the subwoofer lead to see if gets audio signal. I'm guessing the issue is your receiver settings.

Can I hookup a Sony receiver STR-DE505 to a Bassbite 2 KLH Audio system and how??

Yes.

It's frustrating that KLH manuals seem impossible to find anywhere online BUT a simple picture will suffice...

Go here and supersize the picture of the rear of the sub...

Run your front channel speaker wires to the CLEARLY-MARKED connectors on the sub and daisy-chain your front speakers to the CLEARLY-MARKED connectors on the sub.

Adjust the sub volume to match the front speakers levels. This will give you local volume control at the Sony.

First of all a resistor color coding of Yel-Vio-Yel is 470Kohms not 470ohms. You are probably reading some stray voltage in the circuit. Yes, both NEG terminals of the speakers are common. Usually a receiver that blows the main fuse has a power suplpy problem. Check the recifier diodes for shorts. Other than that, the output transistors may be shorted.

Check those out and post the results.

Subwoofer VERY weak

According to the KLH manual for the 9906 "6 pack" with the BassBite sub... it says "if your sub is connected via the speaker - level terminals, your reciever must be set for "NO" subwoofer - even though you are using one. VErify proper polarity on your speaker connection wires. (red or gold to +, black or silver to -). Depending on how you have your woofer connected to the reciever, if connected to a reciever without a subwoofer out then set your reciever for LARGE speakers and turn the subwoofer setting "OFF". Failure to do so will result in little to no bass. If you do have a subwoofer out from your reciever adjust your speaker size setting to small or large speakers as appropriate. Set the recievers sub output to ON. Connecting small speakers to a reciever set for LArge speakers can result in damage to small speakers.

Hope this helps.
