Blue line about an inch wide coming from the top of the tv down to about the middle. looks like a blue light shinning in on a dark room. what could be causing this
Is this a Sony TV set or a Hitachi TV? You have both posted. And if it is an Hitachi, what is the model number?
Oh yes. The old Hitachi LCD projection TV set. These sets are always having this problem. The light engine is going to need to be replaced I'm afraid. If you complain to Hitachi enough, they sometimes will give you the light engine for free, or shall I say give an authorized Hitachi repair center the light engine and you pay only for labor. About 250 to 350.00 for labor. If you cannot get the light engine from Hitachi, you can be expected to pay at least 950 to 1000 bucks for the light engine. You will need to call out an authorized Hitachi repair center first to confirm the obvious. Bad light engine. This is NOT a repair a novice should attempt to do. Good Luck
