SOURCE: kohler lowboy toilet seat does not have bolts underneath

My wife wanted to replace our Kohler low boy with a self closing seat. We got a Westport whisper close with unlock-able hinges for easy cleaning. I followed the above advice to use brute force to yank out the Kohler bolts. I then used a hacksaw to cut the new plastic seat bolts so that they would not extend past the thickness of the porcelain. I drilled the plastic bolts thru so that a small drywall toggle bolt would fit thru. Use a washer to prevent it from pulling thru, screw on the toggle and cut off excess screw length so it does not bottom out inside the cavity. Insert the assembly in the hole and tighten. Snap on & lock the Westport seat and you are good to go!

These bolt covers usually come with the seats as one piece. You can also purchase generic bolt covers at your local hardware shop but it will look a little different.

How do I get to the Pozzi Ginori Cistern that has no no lid

Funny system. You usually have a large access panel of access from a tank room behind. Removal would be opposite of installation.

Self closing all in one tolet seat boxed, hidden screws, how to tighten

If you are trying to install a standard toilet seat on a special "smooth sides" toilet, it likely will not work. Most hidden bolt toilets come with a special seat because you cannot get to anything from below. This special seat has a set of expanding style bolts that are attached to the screw that is part of the seat. The plastic expanding bolt goes into the hole(s) on the toilet, and as you tighten the screw on the toilet seat bolts, they expand the plastic part in the hole of the ceramic toilet.

Self closing toilet seat enclosed, how to tighten

We have another Kohler that has a different, but similar design.
If you don't want to go the replacement part way, you MAY be able to get by with a toggle bolt solution - it depends how far below the ceramic surface the plastic expander extends.
This solution would involve lifting the cover flap over the hinge holes and drilling a hole (1/2 " or so) through center of the plastic screw. Then use a toggle bolt (with a stainless steel washer on one end) and insert the toggle bolt through so it expands on the bottom side of the ceramic surface. Tighten the toggle bolt and flip the plastic cover back over it to hide it.

If this doesn't work, you could unscrew your toggle bolt (the "wings" will fall to the floor, sorry) and then use a progressively larger drill bit to drill out the plastic screw, just as one drills out a rivet. The danger is in going too large and making contact with the ceramic, which will likely shatter (or at the very least chip) the bowl. Once you are able to drill out the plastic screw, you can use a larger size toggle bolt and make more secure contact with the back side of the ceramic bowl surface with you toggle wings.

Kohler cimarron broken seat, replacement parts don't work 2x's

No do not use metal bolt and nut as this can crack the toilet. Just go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy 2 plastic bolts , 2 plastic wing nuts, and 2 plastic washers. Install with seat through toilet holes and tighten by hand until tight. I then use pliers to tight just a turn tighter and the seat should be center as you tightened one side, then the other, and back again until tight.

Pozzi Ginori Cistern In Wall won't stop running, how do the internal parts come out for repair

It could be the fact its overflowing through the siphon( that's the bit your talking about) because the water inlet has a problem, try changing the washer on the inlet if its easier than removing the siphon or replace the inlet.

Missing bolt for toilet seat

A standard toilet seat bolt should be fine. There are some with a rubber boot that expands as tightened but you should be able to reach the nut by reaching into the tank and under the lip. The new nut & bolt should be plastic so they won't corrode.

Toilet seat hinges are loosening

Most generic seats have a thin plastic cap that snaps in place over the bolt heads just behind the seat. Normally they hinge backwards so carefully pop them open with a flat blade screwdriver. Sometimes you can tighten the bolts from underneath even.
