Lcd tv vertical lines

I just recently moved and i have not yet put the tv on the wall so i have it sitting on my tv stand at the moment, and have been using it strictly just to watch dvds since i have no yet hooked up cable and i went to plug my Wii in last night to use netflix and when i turned on the tv it asked if i wanted to switch my input to the Wii i pressed yes and all of a sudden the screen turned into nothing but multi coloured vertical lines - i dont have a remote for the tv so all i have are the buttons on the side to manage the menu settings, which it wont let me even bring up due to the screen having these thick multi coloured lines on it. i can hear the Wii in the back round, but cant do anything to change any settings - is this fixable? or should i just toss it?

SOURCE: LG Plasma picture probles

hi there. I have this same TV, and the exact same problem. Last night, i was playing around with it, took off the entire back of it to see if I could fix it. After a few minutes of tinkering, I found that if I apply pressure to the TV in a specific way, the left side of the picture comes back. Here's what I did: standing in front of the TV, I hold the top of it, in the middle with my right hand, and the upper left corner with my left hand. Then, I gently apply pressure, forward (away from me) with my right hand, and backwards (toward me) with my left hand. Sort of like trying to "bend" the screen. At some point, the picture comes back .. . the problem is, if I let go, then the colored lines come back . . . maybe one can mount it on a wall in such a way that the pressure is still there . .. i haven't tried. That's all I got.

SOURCE: TV freezes when switching to a digital channel

The problem your describing can be contributed to your cable box. Depending on your cable company there are times when the box has trouble translating the signal to the tv. You tv is operating normally. Suggest to the cable company to switch your box.

SOURCE: PS3 not working on reg tv's after HDMI use on LCD HD tv

Shelley,  the fix for this is simple! Hold down the power button for about 5 seconds and the system will beep. This resets the video setting for your ps3 from HD too whatever the current cables are that you are using too hook up too the tv. This works on my PS3 which I just bought about 3 months ago and should work with the older ones.

I just purchased a 52 inch phillips tv and the stand that the tv sits on adds 2 inches which doesn't allow the tv to fit in my entertainment center. What can I do?? I need a shorter stand...

Just take off the stand altogether if you can lay the TV close enough to a solid vertical support.

My 47'' Philips spent about a year without a stand sitting on a desk and leaning on a wall.

It's heavy enough and as you approach to completely vertical position its main force will be pointing down, not forward.

If you can't lean it on anything solid or if it doesn't sit well while in an entertainment center...not sure what I'd suggest....short of adjustable wall mount stands...

Mitsubishi 40" TV, LT-40134 Vertical lines on left side of screen

I've got the same TV with the same problem. Sometimes by moving it on the stand the lines will go away but it only sometimes temporarily fixes the problem. For a while it seemed like it needed to heat up to go away but that is not the case. It seems like there is a bad connection somewhere but i cant seem to find it. One day, one thing will fix it, then the next day it wont do the trick. It gets very irritating.

Thin vertical line

You are going to find it is a LCD panel problem. I am sure that they will take care of you. But also realize that this could have happen to any brand of LCD panel and you will probably not have any other panel issues once it is fixed.
I feel your pain,
