Miele w392 control knob has sheered the spindle on the settings dial. Is it an easy fix or is it a whole new board replacement

The knob that turns the settings dial has broken and sheered off the peg it attaches to so I can't even turn it to express. Currently stuck on starch as I was turning it to empty/spin cycle. Is this easy to fix or does it involve having to replace a whole unit/circuit board

The black part behind the knob is a 14 step code switch.
It is easily replaceable. You may send me a message if you need a spare.

SOURCE: Broken knob on GE washer

There are four separate parts that make up the knob dial. You can pull off the knob if you use a screwdriver/pliers to remove the clip holding it on. Check if the mounting areas appear stripped or broken. There should also be a compression ring in the mounting hole on the back of the knob. That's what may be broken or stripped. These are all parts that you can get from a local parts store (check the phone book) and you can do it yourself. Any of those parts should cost less than $10. The bad news is if you stripped the pole coming out of the timer assembly. You would need to replace the entire assembly which costs about $130. If you call a GE repairman, you are looking at $89.95 or more just to have them show up. If it is still under warranty, there is no charge. You can call them to verify this:

I have the same problem. If I press on the lid by the switch it starts up and finishes the load. Hope this works for you!

I cannot set the time on a Panasonic NN-GD566M microwave oven

Sounds like the dial control on the timer board is bad, the only way to repair it is to replace the whole time board. Try a place called encompass parts. they are a distributor for Panasonic.

How do I calibrate the oven temperature in a Premier 20 inch Freestanding Electric Range?

Pull the knob off of the spindle for the oven control. The temperature adjustment is done by turning the screw inbedded in the end of the spindle. Use a 5/64" blade screwdriver CCW to increase the oven temperature or CW to decrease. Make small adjustments until the dial setting matches the oven temperature.

The spindle connecting the volume control knob to the control itself has broken. Does the whole assembly need to be replaced? I don't have the old spindle.

Do you mean the spindle on the back of the round knob? If this is the case then you simply need a new knob from the manufacures as the bit that fits over the pin coming out of the machine is a one peice moulded item. If you are very nice to customer services at Kenwood, they may send you one for free. Next time be a wee bit more careful not to knock the control knob as it is quite delicate.

IF on the other hand it is the volume spindle couming out of the unit, then yes this is a whole item replacement. This will need to be repaired by either a accredited Kenwood repair agent or a competent repair shop depending on whether this item is still under gaurantee or not.

Install trim and adjust the thermostat on a Grohe shower faucet

Before you install the temperature control knob, adjust the valve body (47111) with a wrench to set the temperature to "100 degree or close to it". Now, place the limit ring to tdc (top dead center) and control knob with the red 100-degree align to it. Your problem may have been the valve's temperature setting is out range when you installing the temperature control knob.

Lincoln AC/DC 225 control dials inoperative

the only way you can get a repair manual is to be a service shop, but what your saying is the dial turns with no resistance.did anyone turn the dial while someone was welding?if so the dial has to be replace, what happens is the contacts inside the unit weld together becuase once the dial is turning it breaks contact then makes contact welding the dial in place. You would not be able to turn the dial.so if the dial turns very easy I would check to see if the dial handle is loose on its shaft.the unit can be taken apart but it just takes a little time.it is a very basic unit with not to many internal parts.good luck, you can fix the problem.

Control knob will not turn to desired setting

the timer knob has a clip that will allow you to remove the knob from the timer. it is between the knob and the dial. what happens is the knob has gear like teeth that will become stripped out.it is easy to replace but alittle hard to remove. you need to get a small screwdriver and go behind the knob, pull on it alittle and you will see the clip, then use the screwdriver to push the clip out of the knob, then the knob will pull of and you can replace it.

Selector knob on my Indesit Washing Machine WI 121 keeps turning & light flashes twice before light turns off. This happens approx 4 times in a whole turn of the knob. Indesit want £100 to come out to fix!...

Hi.
Sounds like you have faulty control module, which is quite expensive to replace.
Also the E.P.R.O.M would have to be replaced as well.
Probably cheaper to buy new washer.

Good luck.
