Janome memory craft 300e

I am looking to use fonts other than those preinstalled. I have purchased one as a trial, saved it to my flash card and opened the design on the machine but it appears you can only use the font like you would a graphic - placing one letter at a time. Are there any options to use new fonts as you would the preinstalled ones using the text keyboard as opposed to like graphics? Also notice that most fonts only come up to 3 inches high. Any ideas where to purchase big fonts (5-6'')?

You need a lettering program to create the letters the way you want. You do the lettering on your pc, save it and send it to the machine by your card.

The memory card cannot be over 128 mb. Also the files need to be .jef format and stored in an emb folder on the card. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Using bigger than 64 MB compact Flash Cards

I have the same machine and if you watch the dvd included with the machine it says to use a MC no bigger than 1 gb. I use a 512mb and it works fine. Your computer may not have a MC port so you will have to purchase a memory card reader which you can purchase on ebay or at Fry's for around 10 dollars. All the files need to be saved on the MC card as a SEW or JEF file. When you go to your machine touch the emb. key then the disc key and you should see your files. You may also need to turn the page; sometimes it save it on different pages.

I have just purchased an old Janome Memory Craft 10001 embroidery machine and need the drivers in order to be able to connect it to my pc via usb cable.

You can go the the Janome web site to find drivers for your computer. When you save designs to the memory card you must save them in a folder (emb, i think}.Put a blank card in the machine while the machine is off anf=d then turn the machine on,,,It will make the folder for you.

Good Luck

Can a Janome 300e take memory cards from 8000 model? Thank you.

No, the designs on a memory card for the Memory Craft 300e do not work in the MC8000, or vice versa. The designs on memory cards for the MC9500 will work in the MC300e. See http://janome.com/en/learn/software-lessons/transferring-designs/compact-flash-card-mc9700-mc9500-and-mc300e/ for some information. The physical cards appear to be the same. If you have extra space on an existing card, you could put another file onto the card with the appropriate format for the other machine.

The MC300e reads a .JEF file; the older MC8000 reads the .SEW file.

I hope this helps.

FAT error on format

FAT error fixed! Formatted using my Canon SLR camera.
I would like to credit whomever it was that suggested using the Camera to check if the card was working for the thought. I had spent many hours attempting to format and reformat my cards using Windows 10 64bit Pro machine. They would work perfectly fine on the computer but would fail on my MC 10001 every time. The MC also failed when trying to format on the sewing machine. Then I stumbled across this thread. I can only guess that the age of technology has become incompatible with the way my computer formats the card. Once I formatted using the camera, everything magically works. Of course, I needed to reformat using the MC machine; but, that was a breeze. I hope this helps someone!

I want to sell my 1991 New Home memory Craft 8000 sewing machine

A good place to see what machines are selling for is Ebay. That's where I sold a sewing machine and an embroidery machine.

It helps to know your product and machine embroidery lingo.

What are cassettes? Floppy disks? These make the machine borderline obsolete.

Memory cards are still around, but most EM now have USB connectivity or USB flash drives.

Satin thread? Embroidery machines use Rayon or Polyester embroidery thread.

Having had the machine recently serviced is also a plus.

Format pc card on janome memory craft 300 e

# Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
# 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
# 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
# 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
# 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
# 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.
