I have a Diamondback 1100 ES stepper which recently started operating incorrectly. It appears that the magnetic flywheel is not exerting any resistance no matter what setting I plug in. Initially when I get on to enter settings, the stepper speed keeps increasing until I bottom out. It must be an electronics problem but I don't know where to start. Suggestions???

I've had this problem years ago. If I remember, the flywheel pickup sensor on the left side of the flywheel is slightly misaligned. If you tweek it it should solve the problem.

9.31 precor error 26 and loud noise

Precor Error Code 26 Error Code: 26 Manufacturer: Precor
Model: All Models
Error Description: Error 26, Motor Pulse Width Incorrect - Observation of the speed sensor signal and verification the signal from the speed sensor is appropriate for the requested speed. If an incorrect or erratic speed sensor signal is detected the error appears. Possible Reason:
  1. The line of sight between the speed sensor and the speed sensor target is obstructed.
  2. Incorrect gap between the speed sensor and the speed sensor target.
  3. Incorrect adjustment of the speed sensor potentiometer (when equipped).
  4. Damaged speed sensor target.
Recommended Action:
  1. Using a static safe vacuum cleaner, carefully vacuum out the drive motor compartment. Be sure to thoroughly clean the area between the speed sensor and the speed sensor target.
  2. Inspect the gap of the speed sensor to the speed sensor target. Proper gap is 3/16" and the speed sensor photo eye should be aimed at the larger portion of the targets wedge shaped section. If unit has a magnetic speed sensor, the gap between the end of the sensor and the flywheel tooth needs to be 3/16".
  3. Locate the speed sensor potentiometer (when equipped) on the lower PCA. Set the speed sensor potentiometer to mid-range. Start the treadmill and increase speed to 6 mph. Carefully adjust the speed sensor potentiometer until the treadmill is operating the smoothest. Increase the speed to full speed and again adjust the speed sensor potentiometer until the treadmill is operating the smoothest. These two adjustments are typically small and are generally only a matter of fine tuning.
  4. Inspect the speed sensor target for any scratches or tears that could cause incorrect readings. Replace the speed sensor target if

Hello, I have a Diamondback HRT 1000 ES stair stepper. The resistance seems to be backwards. i.e. when you start it is at the hardest level even though the electronic resistance graph says it is at the...

Take of the cover off and inspect the inside of it you should see a large flywheel and on that wheel their should be some type of black and silver target wheel ,and next to it possibly on the frame their is a circuit board with a photo speed sensor check voltage it needs to be 5v dc if it is not present then uplug wire to main power board connect and if the 5v dc is present at board connection replace sensor. If 5v dc is present at sensor then gently clean target wheel with a soft cloth ,then try the unit without the cover and see if that take care of problem if not then adjust sensor closer without touching the target wheel.

Chipper won't start

what engine do you have im guessing a briggs & stratton was it running previously or sitting awhile it can be a few things the flywheel key could be sheered or the points are bad or the flywheel & coil are rusted check flywheel & coil to see if rusted if so take coil off mild sand paper like 80 grit i beleave clean both to get the right gap between flywheel & coil turn the flywheel alittle bit so the magnets won't touch coil or if coil still of set flywheel to where it will touch magnets fat peice of sand paper not folded but flat sand paper about .020 gap between magnet & coil if you place sand paper against the flywheel magnet then set coil against sand paper & magnet that should give you 0.020 gap & it should start if not e-mail me i will guide you through everything to get it started

Razor DiamondBack

Your best bet is to probably reinstall the Razor Diamondback drivers.

You can access the latest drivers from here:

Be sure to install the correct drivers for your operating system.
