When you start the cleaning cycle, Don't stop the process by pulling the plug! Turnthe unit off from inside wait 5+ seconds & turn back on and thecleaning cycle should restart... If you do not use a cleaning TAB..Open& shut the LOOSE coffee Door under the drawer (Top Left) and thecycle will continue.
Amazon.com sells the descaling tablets as well as the cleaning tablets, Miele brand. Search on "Miele tablets" for example. Third party (non Miele) tablets are available but you might not want to risk using those in your $3K machine. If you search on "food grade grease" you can find a small tube of it that sells for about $8.
The coffee system must be descaled regularly. The time period depends on the water hardness set. The appliance will display a reminder message and will eventually lock if not descaled. The message window will first display: "DESCALE AFTER COFFEES: 100". This message will appear until the appliance is descaled or locks. When the count is down to zero, the appliance will lock and the message window displays: The appliance can only be used again once descaling has been performed. Let the machine cool before descaling. Remove the sleeve of the steam nozzle to avoid damage from the descaling agent. Only use the enclosed descaling tablets for descaling. The descaling tablets are specially designed for descaling this coffee system. Other agents may damage the machine and affect the taste of the coffee and hot water. The descaling tablets can be purchased from Miele. To prevent damage to the exterior of the machine wipe up any descaling solution spills immediately! Add 2 liters of water to the water tank. The large ones are your descaling tablets. they go in your water container when the machine tells you to put them in there. Your small tablets are brew unit cleaning tablets. they go in to the flap door under the ground coffee storage container in the top left of the machine. One cleaning tablet at a time when it tells to to start cleaning. Two descaling tablets at a time during descaling.
Hello, you can buy descaling tablets at your local Starbucks. There is also a liquid descaling solution (small bottles) you can buy anywhere.

The cleaning program is different from the descaling program.
The machine is now wanting you to descale the machine. Get some descaling powder or tablets, desolve in water and let the machine run through the descale program.
The big tablets are for descaling, and go in the water jug, the small ones for cleaning the brew unit, and pop in the top.
The boxes that they come in should tell you what they are - in many languages!
