Probably not. .vbe means Visual Basic Encoded script. It seems as though someone tried to camouflage their script with a familiar filename (by prepending setup.exe in front of it. Is this on a CD or a file you received in email or downloaded?

Hi,
No, because setup.exe or .vbe both are different extension supported.
.exe support for any software installation file or .vbe only support to Visual Basic Encoded script.

Thanks.

Is setup.exe.vbe from e324rfds.kp-microdefender.nl safe to use

No. A double extention like that (name.exe.vbs) is a big red flag for viruses. Real companies and developers don't name things like that.

When booting up after the logo the computer goes to black screen. There are no beeps at start up. When starting in safemode it stays with black screen with the safe mode written in the corners

In safe mode try pressing ctrl+alt+del, then go to task manager-->applications-->New task, then type: explorer.exe Now your desktop should appear. you could also try running: msconfig In the same way, and see wether explorer.exe is still in the startup. Adding it again will permanently solve your problem. I hope this helps, Yannick.

Have you tried to reset the password. If not try this, restart the PC and keep pressing F8 until you get the OS Choices menu, select "Safe Mode". when safe mode is loaded click on Administrator and It should go to the desktop but this depends if the Administrator account is enabled or it will not work and there are no known programs that can bypass userinit.exe in vista
