Download the service manual from pride's website. It had detailed instructions on how to do that job.

Brake system of a scooter

There is a parking brake lever at the back, but if you're talking about stopping the scooter while riding it, there are no separate brakes.
taking your finger off the power lever turns the electric motor into an electric generator which slows and stops the scooter very quickly.

Shoprider 4 wheel sooter breaks locking and have a wiring problem

if the wheel lock , then the brake must be faulty, so please clarify does the scooter work okay when you push the forward or reserve lever ?
Remember the brake release when you push the throttle lever by applying 24v to the brake , if the brake does not click then the brake might be faulty or the controller is not outputting24v ,check the wiring and connector from the brake to the controller.

Why does my Pride Go-Go Ultra X 4-Wheel not break quickly?

You may need to charge the batteries fully. You may be exceeding the hill slope recommended or exceeding the weight capacity. These are light duty scooters with light duty brakes. Slow down and enjoy the ride keeping this in mind. You may want to have the throttle potentiometer checked out. It needs to go to neutral for the brake to engage. These scooters have a relatively long brake sense engagement through the controller electronics.

In Drive position the wheels are locked and in neutral the wheels remain locked and will not spin or free wheel. In drive with the battery in the unit just clicks but does not move, everything works such...

I would suspect that the brake is not releasing causing your problem. When you place the handle in freewheel and you can't push the scooter easily then the brake pad is stuck on the motor housing. If you are able remove the seat and back cover remove the drive wheel on the side of the scooter nearest the freewheel lever usually the right side. you should be able to see the brake attached to the end of the motor with 3 or 4 hex head screws. take the brake off the end of the motor and carefully leave the wiring attached ( don't break or remove the wires going to the brake or the scooter will not run at all) remove the brake and place or tie it up where it won't fall or drag. Put the drive wheel back on and turn the scooter on and see if it will now move. If it moves like it should you will have to replace the brake. You can drive the scooter like this but remember you do not have brakes so the scooter can roll backwards or forward when not on and especially on ramps Hope this helps
