I did a diagnostic check it says that I am connected. and i have tried to main wire it directly to the internet connection. still the same. Is there something blocking it? What is my computers problem? help!!
Do some basic techniques :
first check your computer for virus, check your Firewall security,
check the QoS setting of your Router, try to remove cache.

I am going to do two things, here.
1.Solve your problem
2.Suggest a program I highly recommend which will prevent your problem's reoccurence, though I have absolutely no financial interest in the latter, but have used it when problems like this occurred and it has proven itself to be the only way I know to properly administer a home network of up to 8 nodes with minimal difficulty.
First, the solution, since your previous addition of a router, which you removed, very likely consumed and still consumes an allocation of memory reserved for it, which your mac PB can no longer address, as it once could.
Start from scratch and rebuild your network, running whatever setup procedures established the relationship between the nodes.
Next: Google Network Magic, download the free version to try out, and if you like it, buy the program which probably currently sells for about $50.00, fully configured. There is also a Mac version which will assist your mixed network needs.
SOURCE: cant connect to wireless
There's some Wireless security that doesn't work on apples. Try disabling the security options from 2wire. when you can connect from it to Internet wireless, then use wep security settings.

By "USB wireless internet" I assume you are referring to a communication card from a cellular telephone carrier.
I also assume that despite the fact that you have singled out Safari, in reality you will find cannot access the internet at all through this device, e.g., sending and receiving mail through Apple Mail, using iChat, using Software Update, etc. I say this because when Safari refuses to access the internet through a particular device, it's very rare that the problem turns out to be peculiar only to Safari. (To answer your original question, no, no special settings are needed.)
Many of these cellular internet cards come with "install me first" software for the Mac that is written badly and doesn't work on the most current versions of the Mac OS. Your first step (assuming you have another working route to the internet) is to visit your provider's website and download the current version of his Mac connection software (which will almost always NOT be the version you got in your product box). Install and run it exactly according to the instructions (they are often so fragile that any variation at all will break them), and then try again.
SOURCE: My mac laptop keeps getting
shut it down, press power key and hold.
then start up holding shift key this will check the hdd and allow access to your files. (maybe backup at this stage, depends on you)
If it will not start the try this
start up holding down apple and s, you will see black screen with white lettering.
wait until all is started the type
fsck -f
then press return, this will force the hdd into testmode in unix.
do not type anything else,
when it is finished you can restart your mac.
before you try this you can create a test user and try the thing that causes the problem in that profile if the same thing happens ie mac hangs or freezes, then try the above steps. if all of this fails then back up your data and reformat the mac and reinstall the os
hope this helps
thanks for using FixYa
