There is a couple reasons way your unit can beep.
#1 not tape on the unit
#2 if you trying to record maybe the cassette tab on the cassette is broken to protect a recording
#3 it can be at the end of the tape
#4 try to play and make sure tape moves if tape don't move possible broken belt or bad motor
If none above you can send an email to [email protected] or call (805) 644-9525. Please indicate model and detailed description of problem.

SOURCE: Dictaphone 2710 noise problem

This squealing noise is caused by the capstan motor. The bearings have dried up and it's metal on metal - causing an awful squealing noise. As soon as you put in a cassette, the motor begins to spin - causing the squealing noise.

My er 2710 cash register keeps beeping at me

These don't beep for no reason. There must be something wrong, maybe your fly is open. I would find out the location of the beeper. It will have two wires, cut one and your beeping will stop.

I want to transfer files that were recorded on a dictaphone on to another dictaphone to play. How do I do this? The files are the same format and when I move them the dictaphone doesn't have them to play

Can't you simply take the tape from the 2750 and put it into the other Dictaphone to play it? Or is the other Dictaphone a different size tape (eg; mini or micro)?

20 year old Dictaphone Voice Processor Microcassette not working

Not sure if you're still having problems with this portable, but the first thing I would check is to make sure that you've put the batteries UNDER the battery clip in the battery compartment. Does the machine just make a 'beeping' noise when it tries to play, rew, or FF?

Dictaphone Expresswriter 2740 Tape Won't Move

The problem is with the capstan motor. More than likely it has developed a 'flat spot' and won't spin up. The clicking noise you hear is the solenoids trying to pull the heads into place, but because the motor isn't turning, it can't pull the heads into place.

Dictaphone 3750 transcriber

If it does this with all tapes, there is a small "no-cassette" switch at the back of the cassette compartment. The switch may be broken, dirty or out of adjustment. When you open the cassette door you should be able to see the switch tab. Push it in just a bit to see if the No Tape indicator goes out.

Dictaphone 2740

More than likely then the drive belt is broken or the motor is bad.
If you press the reset button the 88.8 flashing should go to 00.0.
If you are sure the tape is good, there is also a switch at the rear of the cassette compartment to detect if the record prevention tab is missing from the cassette itself. If the tab is in the cassette, the switch could be dirty or out of adjustment.
