Treadmill I purchased the above treadmill 3 months ago and it just stopped working. I have tried all of the troubleshooting listed in the guide: lubricating with silicone, making sure the belt is aligned, cleaning. After I turn the machine on, it will sometime run on a low speed for a few seconds but it will eventually shut down... and it will shut down immediately if I increase the speed. It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm on or off the machine. I removed the motor cover and made a video to illustrate the problem, which you can see here (fast-forward 20 seconds to see it in action) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8WvjYIXm9 Any ideas? Hi, Yeah it seems this happens a lot with treadmills. This should still be under warranty if you purchased it 3 months ago. If you got it used, buyer beware, the old saying. I'm sorry to say but it sounds like the motor starts, at a slow pace, then gets hot and shuts down. It doesn't sound like a controller on the board. When they go out, they go right out. Is there a way you can test it for voltage output? that would be my first check. Alligator clip it and run the motor while checking the output. Check the manual for the voltage output. Good luck.

SOURCE: I have a LifeSpan TR1000-TV

The error ERR-1.This error is caused due to motor board getting faulty. And due to motor board getting weak this makes the belt overheated because belt does not get enough power to spin as per the required speed set on the display to spin. As per the Lifespan treadmill manual it says that lubing the belt helps. But actually this is a temporary solution.Because when you lube the belt it gets frequent movement to spin.It actually gets dried up due to overheat. So lubing makes it spin freely. But it again gets dried up after it gets overheated again. This cycle continues again n again. And at last internal motor coils and connections gets overheated and starts giving burning smell from both the belt and motor. The exact solution for this problem is two replacement. The motor board including motor and the belt has to be replaced. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

My treadmill turned on but the belt will not run

Dear Sir:
If the treadmill is turned On, you must check the follow:
1) the belt drive motor is faulty. 2) loose tension in walk belt, tight it.
3)Roller bearing from walk belt is faulty(lack of lubrication) both extreme.4) Walk belt is faulty and NEED LUBRICATION.

Please RUN the software calibration, under the Hood of motor and see the steps, for diagnose and troubleshooting.

See the block diagram attached. for help in troubleshooting.

The treadmill seems to work fine at first then the belt kinda sticks. It like stops and goes. Electrical seems fine

It's possible that your treadbelt needs lubrication, or simply adjusting. Here is a tutorial on adjusting your treadbelt:

Here is one link to purchase a lube kit, there are probably many others online also:

Should you actually need to purchase a new treadbelt, I would try to identify which specific model of the Proform 530 you have from this list and then in the parts list for that treadmill scroll down to "Treadbelt"

Need to lubricate the bell of my treadmill . how i do that..?

you will need silicone lubricant with an applicator wand and all you have to do is lift the belt up enough to get the applicator wand under and spread the treadmill silicone on the machine - be very careful that you do not use any other silicone except what is made for treadmills. My company sells this product for $18.95 and it usually will last 1-2 years with proper lubrication
