When I record the video camara stores the files as mov01a, mov01b, mov01c and then for no apparent reason it will jump to an odd number and store it as mov015, mov016. When I download the files to the computer I don't know what order they are in because the file numbers are all mixed up. I went to the menu to register event to try and sort the pictures that way but they are still mixed up. Is there an easier way to store these videos so that they are in order?

There is a reset button on the camcorder. To access it you have to use a paperclip. First I would try to format it from the menu screen within the camcorder and then reset the camcorder to factory. This would delete all the files.

I have a JVC Everio GZ-HD3AA camcorder which I recently purchased. I am able to connect it a TV and watch video files, but they all appear in black and white!
The downloaded movies to my laptop (Acer aspire 5630) with windows vista as the operating system are played in slow motion on the laptop screen.

as stupid and simple as it sounds:
rename the file extension to %filename%.MPG and it will play with your normal video player (I use VLC player).
found this solution on some other site, was sceptical, but it really works.

Answer:what you do is you press the play/record button on the left side of the camcorder when it is open to get to the videos. then you use the laser touch operation to scroll to the video you want to delete. then, right under the screen there should be 5 buttons. the one to the left of the menu button has a picture of a garbage can looking thing above it. just press that and then press yes when it asks you if your sure.
