How could the belt be in working order if the drum doesn't spin? Check to see if the belt has come off the motor. If the motor runs but your dryer doesn't spin, the belt is off. If the motor runs with the belt on but it still won't spin then you'll have a lot of black smoke because your drum is jammed. In other words, there are a number of things that could be wrong, but not very many.

door gasket. pain to replace. clean stainless steel drum where it contacts rubber before installing a new one. I used baby oil and very fine steel wool.

It could be the adapter is just faulty, but you can't tell to you get power to the unit if any part has failed inside (most liklely the transformer if it has).
I found this step-down adapter on amazon which should do the trick, not expensive either.

Perform an ODBII scan and look for a Mass Air Flow sensor fault. The pop you heard was most likely a back fire and could have damaged the MAF sensor. A bad MAF sensor can result in overly rich (black smoke) fuel mapping. Pull the intake duct off of the turbo and see if the impellor will spin freely by turning it with your finger. Do you have boost pressure on the dash gauge?
