It's is straight forward. Select a replacement spring with the same tension color as the original spring. The color is applied to one of the hooks. Above all thread the safety wire through the center of the spring.

How do I replace a broken door spring?

You can call a local garage door repair shop to get replacements. They should have springs that will work with your garage door depending on if the door is for a single-car or double-car garage, or if the door is made out of wood versus steel. Usually both of your springs will have to be replaced for safety reasons. You should not replace the spring yourself unless you are a trained professional with the proper equipment because the springs are very dangerous and cause serious injury.

Sears garage door opener model 139.53919

The torsion springs might need adjustment.

Pull emergency release, and manually lift door to half-open position.

When you release the door, it should stay in place.
If it almost "slams" down, the springs are not doing their job to "balance" the weight of the door itself.
The opener isn't designed to overcome the weight of the unsupported (no spring assist) door.

Over time, the springs take a "set", and might need a readjustment
THIS IS A JOB FOR PROFESSIONALS!!!
The springs are under tremendous pressure loading, and can even kill someone if they do not know what they are doing!

Installed two new springs on automatic doorman model 455 and it won't close or open. chain will not move door where are adjustment screws? I think that may be the problem

Does it make a noise? Did it run before you changed the springs? Did you replace springs on opener or on the door? What adjustment screws are you looking for? Do you think they went out of adjustment when you changed the springs?

Torsion spring is broken for our liftmaster 2265R model garage door opener and i need a new one where do you buy one?

Here are instructions for replacing the spring. You can call any local garage door company and they will sell you the springs. I absolutely don't recommend this job for a DIY'er. It is dangerous.

Craftsmen garage door opener 139.53919 door spring split in two and garage door will not open

Have someone out to fix the spring.
DON"T fix it yourself. These things are very dangerous and can cut off fingers or worse. Just Google replacing garage door springs to read up and the danger replacing these can be.
Have someone who know what they are doing fix it.

How do I get the rear ring clamp with the spring back on the front door seal. I took it of ok and have changed the seal but I cant seem to get the spring to strentch enough Thanks Mark LG wd 8013f front...

It takes another set of hands to stretch and hold the spring in place at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. With the spring held in place in this manner, pull the remaining portion of the spring straight down at the 6 o'clock position with one hand and hold it while working the rest of the spring into the groove with the other hand. This is the toughest part of replacing these door seals, but it works better with two people. Please let me know if you need further assistance. I hope this helps you.
