Atleast on model which I own (~6 yrs old), there is no need to take apart the case for switch removal. Simply pry the switch cover off (gently) and switch will then slide out for cleaning & evaluation.

How to repair toggle switches on cuisinart dgb900 coffee maker

You can replace them but unlikely to repair them. The casing will come apart, with some difficulty.
Remove the old switch, source an identical new switch and fit it.

The outer portion of the transmission drain hole crumbled and broke when I removed the drain plug. How do I repair the transmission case?

There are 2 ways you can attempt to fix your cases. The best way but most costly would be to have the cases welded ( heliarc ). Of coarse this would involve taking the motor completely apart. Or you can try JB-weld. I have repaired many cases with JB-weld. The key to repairing with JB weld is mixing it 60 - 40 not 50 - 50, using 60% steel and 40% hardener. It may take a couple of layers of the JB weld to repair the cases, so apply it maybe a day apart. Mixing it the way i do it does take longer to fully cure so be patient. Plus you have to have the cases clean and free of any oil or dirt. It also helps to rough up the cases with a piece of sandpaper or a dremel.

My 17 year old Wilson Jones 1153 Model shredder can't be left plugged in-It drains the electrical circuits and turns our heater off. Other than that,it works great. Is this worth repairing-Suggestions?

Just take it apart and unplug the switch that is keeping it on. take pictures when you pull apart the cases. sometimes some of the screws are under labels. Should be no more than five screws. Paper has an oily presence and causes these type of failures.

How to repair electrolux xio no power

Could be a break in the cable, thermal switch if it has one, some have them on the motor in case of overheating. Could be a faulty power switch.
Could be a number of things, if you are not confident enough to take it apart and look then you should take it to a repairer.

How to take apart ms2-100?

First, you will need to remove the rubberized grip on the front. I suggest that you insert a small flat screwdriver where the switch is and gently pry up the rubberized grip. Work around it until it is free. You will then see two screws at the bottome. Remove screws and loosen the metal plate that clips on at the top. You can then gently pry the two halves of the case apart

The feed dogs on my Singer model 7444 will not stay up when I raise them. Can I adjust them and how do I take the plastic case off to do the repairs?

This may not be a simple job as "plastic" machines have to be snapped apart and back together just right.

The problem could be at the switch or somewhere between the switch and feed dogs.

Check with a Singer dealer for an estimate for the repairs before you take it apart and find you cannot get it back together.

I have an Easy-Flo central vac unit. The handle on the electric hose has a switch on the handle. With the switch on ''O'' in the center, it's off. On the left, is the ''I'' position. The vacuum runs but...

You can't get that apart. I repair the switches on these hoses a lot. The only way to fix it is to just get a new switch and replace it. You can get a replacement switch here:

The lens is stuck out and is slightly bent and it wont switch on. the light comes on and then switches off. it was dropped

The lens has probably got something in the retraction mechanism that is stopping it retracting. This can be something as simple as sand or grit or as a result of a drop or knock. In most cases the camera will need to be stripped apart to remove the lens assy before it can be repaired. This is best left to a professional camera repair shop.

Scooter stalls

Hi, the wiring must loose around the key switch, it might be a case of taking the tiller off and resoldering the wires onto the key switch. It not a major repair , just a case of getting the tiller panel apart and locating the wires to the switch.

Whirlpool Two Speed Automatic Top Load Washer. Problem:Won`t drain or spin. Will go thru the wash cycle, and then stops with no thurver sounds from motor. The lid switch seems OK with clicking sound...

I would start with a timer replacement, since the motor circuit works for fill and agitate.

Question if you want to repair or replace washer, cost vs age, useage, etc. etc.
