Usb contents has strange symbols that the computer can't read

It all started when I tried to copy counters strike from mu mom's laptop to be paste in our desktop.. When I inserted the usb, it shows strange symbols that can't be read and it cannot be formatted. I inserted it again on my mom's laptop, the it said it needs scan and fix. After that, it goes baCK TO normal.. and I formatted the usb. When I tried to copy a movie from my friend's laptop, first it went fine but at the last 10 sec. a message popped out and said there's an error.. so I skipped it... When I opened the movie folder in the usb, it happened again.. strange symbols appeared again.. it can't be read.. now I can't put large files on my usb,coz it'll only result to that .. making its 8GB useless.

Sounds like there are sectors of the drive are failing. Chkdsk can help mark those as not usable. If drive is old and problems persist then consider getting a new one.

Can the files be copied successfully to the hard drive of another machine?

I also recommend at least trying ChkDsk on the USB.

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Try it first by not checking either box (this will run it in a Read-only mode) to see if it flags any hard drive or file problems. If it does, restart it by ticking both boxes, and rerun it to allow it to attempt to fix any found problems.

The first link is freeware, the others are free to try before purchase. The last two are a slightly better product in my opinion.

Start - Program Files - Accessories - System Tools - Character Map.

Or find the ones you want to use online and copy & paste them. If you have a series of math symbols you use a lot, paste them into a little NotePad file and save it on your desktop for that purpose.

It sounds like your files are encrypted (for some strange reason). You will need to figure out how to un-encrypt or disable encryption on the troublesome drive. It might help further if you stated what OS's are on the computers involved.

I won't claim I understand what you want to do, because I can't recognize the "word" where there should be a verb or a past participle.
I will show you how to insert the symbol for the prefix "micro".

If you are using Microsoft Office 2007, click the Insertion (insert menu). There should be the Omega symbol to the right of the Ribbon. Click the Omega symbol and a table of characters appears. Look for the Mu symbol in the Greek alphabet, select it and copy it, and paste it where you want.
Alternatively, click Start=>All Programs=>Accessories=>System Tools=>Character Map, then look for the Mu under Greek alphabet.

unlike nokia phones, Lg's a bit comlicated when it comes to PC suite operations, anyway it doesnt give options for the connections, as a external memory or USB mode. we can find it only by going through PC suite.
For copying, open the contents in PC suite and alternativley select all the files u want to copy and jus drag them directly to contents folders. even i faced the same problem when i tried to copy, paste the items, but dragging is working.
