SOURCE: LOC appears in screen..can't turn oven on

The Control Lock feature is on. Press and hold 9 and 0 together for at least 3 seconds to toggle off the lock. It will beep when the lock turns off; I've found that you sometimes have to hold the keys for closer to 5 seconds. This feature is useful when cleaning the control panel and to keep small children from accessing the oven. Repeat holding 9 and 0 together to toggle the lock on. If you look closely at the control panel, you will see a line under the two pads with Control Lockout underneath the line.

LG has the manual for the LR30855ST on their product support site: http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-LRG30855ST .

I hope this helps.

Cannot set oven temp - LOC is being displayed

This is a symptom of the control panel lock. It prevents the oven from being turned on when you clean the touch pad. Press and hold 9 and 0 at the same time for at least 3 seconds (until the control beeps twice). The message should disappear and the panel should begin to work.

The manual is available at the LG site: http://www.lg.com/us/appliances/ranges/LG-gas-range-LRG30855ST.jsp . Click on the Support tab and look on the right hand side of the page.

I hope this helps.

Ican't turn the oven on. When I press "Bake" it goes to LOC and then turns itself off. I should be able to adust the temperature (+ or -), then press start.

Hi

If it is a GE oven then you can try and reset the LOC error by pressing 9 and the 0 simultaneously for 5 seconds or until the LOC disappears. Alternatively you can try pressing the "Oven Lockout" or "Range Lockout" button on the control panel and then the "Start" button. Hope this helps... Please post back with make and model# of your Oven if you need more information.

GE JKS05 loc Getting "loc" on the display screen. Can't unlock it. Tried turning circuit breaker of for up to 15 mins, but didn't help.

HI. This is a control lock out feature. This is a child safety feature, and not a oven fault. Simply, Press the Nine and zero pad, simultaneously, until the "LOC" code disappears.

This will correct the issue.

"loc" display

This just happened to me. I have whirlpool double oven accubake. The display went blank and i had to turn the breaker off. I left it off for several hours. When I turned the breaker back on my oven display read "Loc" in big letters to the right of the time. I held the start button down for 5 secs. The display went away and the oven started to work as if nothing had happened. I hope that is stays that way.

Self clean light blinks when you turn oven on (oven does not work)

I had this same problem with mine (still posted under unsolved) This is the simpler model with the old turn style knob and the lever you slide over to lock the door for cleaning What I think (keep in mind I know little about ovens, more about cars) is that the switch that tells the oven the door is latched is staying engaged, and this is part of the lever mechanism. I cleaned and lubed this mechanism (obviously I would guess you want to use a food safe lubricant) and then moved the lever several times with the oven on so I could see if it turned on. After a few tries the cleaning light went off and the oven light came on. No, its not really a technical answer, all indications to me where that the problem was in the switch which is part of the latch mechanism. Good luck
