Yes, with limitations. The lenses will fit on any Pentax (now Ricoh) digital SLR. You may lose autofocus and/or auto exposure metering.

This is a known fault with this retro model, I'm afraid - over time, the plastic gears get worn, and eventually fail. Solutions are mentioned on the Pentax Forums.

Have you not used it in a while?

This could be one of two issues:

One, it could be the battteries. The ME super is not a fully mechanical camera like the mx, if the batteries are depleted then the shutter sticks open as it does not know how long to stay open. Turning the selection wheel to 125X usually unsticks it.

Two, the lubricant that pentax used in the 70's and 80's has a very bad tendecy to polymerise and turn sticky and solid. This turns the camera inoperable. Pentax repair service routinely provide cleaning for affected cameras.

Can be just a cleaning problem. Try to clean the terminals to the lens.

The Pentax MV has a similar body and uses the same lenses as the Pentax ME Super, but it is a fully "Auto Exposure" camera. It does not have manual override or shutter-priority modes. It is a good camera to take pictures, but not if you want to have full manual / creative control over the camera.

Yes, the ME super has an electronic shutter that works in conjunction with the LEDs. Purchase some fresh S76 button cells, A76 will work, but the will not last as long. Make sure the battery cover is corrosion free and install the batteries so both cells face positive toward the cover.

I just bought some batteries for mine...you will get it in any photo or camera store

The mirror box control mechanism needs servicing ( rubber parts have perished and are gumming up the workings of the mirror mechanism so shutter is not workingrking) . Unfortunatelly this requires complete strip down and so should be done professionally.
