Large oven in dacor dual oven range broiler comes on when i select bake

Hi we just got all the circuits replaced and now when I select bake for the large oven the broiler comes on along with the top element. in essence it seems to be trying to bake and broil at the same time...first is the top element supposed to come on when I hit bake? I think the answer is yes...but is the broiler pad also supposed to heat up like a blast furnace too...which in time turns off the entire oven when the heat gets too extreme? I don't think it is supposed to...help

SOURCE: Dacor oven will no heat.

The reset button is located near (probably behind) the latch that locks your door during sef clean. The reset is located in the middle a thermostat that looks like a round disc the size of a quater and about 1/4 to a 1/2 inch high with two wires, one on each side, plugged into it. Usually with a long thin screwdriver and the power turned off you can reset it with out having to take anything, or at least very little parts, off.

Once you replace the oven control again....never use self clean on any oven....unless you want to replace parts.
Before you replace the control...look inside the control panel for a resettable thermal fuse.

Dacor Epicure Dual Fuel Range ERD36SACH/LP The oven only heats in pure covection.

f resetting the high temp limit switches did not resolve the issue, it may be a problem with the broiler and bake elements themselves or with the wiring and connections that supply power to them. It would be best to have a qualified technician inspect and diagnose the issue to determine the necessary repairs.

Dacor MORD203S; lower oven broil burner is coming on regardless of setting

You have a failed control, or valve. turn off the gas feed immediately. The fix is to replace the control or valve. Be sure you have the skill set if you are attempting to replace the control or valve yourself. A mistake could seriously hurt or kill you.

I have a dual fuel Dacor ERD30 range that will not stay hot. Lately, it will heat up to the desired temperature and beep to indicate it is ready, but then will not hold the temperature. And strangely, if...

Sounds similar to what mine is doing.
Since Dacor uses the gas broiler to preheat the oven, the problem is that the lower heating element isn't getting power.
I took out the element and verified that the element is still good, but no AC voltage coming from the relay board to the element.
Try setting on the Pure Convection mode - it will probably heat up and hold the temp fairly well - that still doesn't do any good if you need to bake something covered (convection modes are useless for covered container..

It could be the oven ignitor which is located under the heat displacement shield if you have a voltage meter or a multimeter do an ampere test should first shut the gas off next locate the oven ignitor or bake ignitor and you will see two wires that go to the ignitor clip around one of the wires should be reading 3-3.3 amps any less then this and the oven will not light even if it read 2.9 it would still be a weak ignitor and need to be replaced because it would not be lighting the gas when it was supposed to check your oven ignitor and message me back with your finds And please remember when our chat is concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation Thanks again and Happy New Year

My broiler works - but the oven does not - GE Dual Fuel range

Thanks for providing the full model number, which allows us to look up part numbers and see exploded views of your product.
Most likely the bake ignitor is bad (even if it still glows, it may not draw enough amperage to allow the gas safety valve to open). One way you can test this on your model is to swap out the broil ignitor for the bake ignitor, as they are the same part number on your model. (part number WB13T10045) The broiler is normally used much less than the oven, so the part does not fail very often on the broiler. You will have to take the cover off the floor of the oven, then the flame spreader, to reach the burner area. The ignitor is the rectangular part at the back, on the side of the burner. (only two wires to deal with) (By the way, for future reference, your model number ends is SS, as in stainless steel, not a 55)

ERD30S- oven wont turn on

Hi! jpdufilho
Try tuning off the power to the unit for 20 minutes. If this does not fix the problem you may need a new control board/panel. If you have a lot of lightning in your area you should have several surge protectors in your house. All electronic devices need some type of surge suppression.

Dacor ERD30 oven trouble

HI,

Check if both circuit breakers for the oven are on.
The control board needs only 120V but it should be 240V for the heating elements to function properly.

Check if there is 120V coming to the thermal fuse.

when you get your meter . put the oven on bake and check your power on the bake element if you do not have 240 volts then your control board is bad. if you have 240 volts then you element is bad.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate the solution.

Oven Temperture adjustment

On my Epicure, you are supposed to press the bake selector pad then press the + button to set the temperature to 500 degrees or higher.  Then hold the bake button for 5 seconds.  The temp display is replaced by 00.  Release the bake pad and use the - or+ buttons to adjust the temperature in 5 degree increments.  When finished push cancel (or just do nothing).  Good luck.  I tried this and my oven kind of went haywire.  It decreased the temp by much more than the 10 degrees I had set it too.  May be something else wrong with my oven though?
