Saeco vienna saying brewunit blocked !

Hi
My saeco vienna digital is about 6 years old and was working fine until 2 days ago when it started giving me the message brew group blocked. I followed the manual and it says to drain it and turn off the steam but even that is not working. Can you kindly help? Thanks Frank

Hi There is a test mode for the Digital and we can see if you have a bad power board. Turn the machine off in back. Push and hold the small coffee button and the menu button (top left) at the same time and while you are holding the buttons turn the machine on. Release the buttons and you should have numbers in the display. If you can push the bottom left button and the machine makes a sound like the motor is moving, turn it off and then back on. If you don't get the message now you should really clean and lube your brew unit.

I did not get a sound on the left button and the second button. but did get a grinding sound (like the grinder was running) on the third button and snap sound on the fourth button. The brew unit has been cleaned thoroughly but not lubricated. Any further suggestions? Are the numbers in the display error codes? If so, is there a guide for the codes?

Hi,
There is a thermostat that is stuck on the boiler. I would suspect that this thermostat has either:

1- A bad contact with the boiler. Contact is assured by thermal paste
2- The thermostat is faulty and gives false readings, thus preventing the boiler to heat the water enough.

Hope this helps

Saeco vienna digital not steaming !!

Hi
If you get water through the wand, you may have a thermal fuse that is blown or the element in the steam boiler is gone. Let me know if you need one.

Saeco Vienna Deluxe not hot enough

Hi
They should have checked the temperature before shipping it out. There is a sensor on the back of the boiler that has (depending on how old the machine is) 2 orange wires. In the wire or on the wire is a resistor. You can remove the resistor and raise the temperature about 6 to 12 degrees, but I think you need a new sensor.

Loud pop does not work

2 things. Brain (main board) could be dead.

Gun shot sound could also be the gears kicking.

Not a good sound and neither is cheap to get fixed. If its both... dump the machine, it'll be cheaper to buy a new one.

Brain plus both gears would hit you 400+ usually.
