when washer start to spin the water out it leak, not every time but it leaks

We were told that we are using too much powder by the Malber people. We switched to a liquid detergent at their suggestion (front-loading, high-efficiency liquid). Same problem. I think this machine just has a design flaw.

how do you remove the pump

  • Anonymous Feb 05, 2008

This washer has never cleaned very well. Often I have to do three full cycles to get a clean rinse. It's a nightmare. I was hoping it has a clogged lint catcher, that might be the reason it is never cleaned or rinced well. Now it leaks. I wish I has read more evaluations before I bought this les-than-quality washer.

SOURCE: Problem : Water leaking out from under washing machine

NOTE. PLEASE UN-PLUG THE UNIT FROM THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY BEFORE ATTEMPTING THE FOLLOWING JUST TO BE SAFE:-

Problem may be due to a blocked dispenser hole. Completely remove the dispenser unit and check for blockages in the hole where the water goes in. If you cant see anything immediate, take the top off. (Remove the 2 self tapping screws on the back holding the top on). Looking at the unit from the front. look inside where you took the top off and locate the rubber hose that connects the dispenser unit to the drum (it's a tight space, but if you look inside , front left you will see where the hose connects to the drum). Remove the hose and check for blockages. (The hose just pushes into the drum). Let me know. I had a similar problem and found that somebody had shoved a sock and pair of knickers down the water dispenser hole. This was also causing the machine to make a loud noise when spinning. Have you also checked the filter in the bottom right hand corner of the unit ? You have to remove the kick panel to get access to it.

This model is a direct drive with only one pump, the drain pump. If the drain pump leaks, which is a common problem on these models, it will leak no matter what temperature wash is selected! If you a have a leak on cold, it will probably also leak on warm wash. Your problem is your solenoid operated fill valve on the cold side. Only one fill hose comes off of this combination fill valve to your fill plenum at the top back of your tub. So if it leaks on the cold, but not hot, check for a crack in the plastic housing of the valve on the cold half. The valve is located on the inside back of the machine on top right when looking at the front of the machine. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to replace.

Hope this helps

Maytag clothes washer Model LAT6910AAW. leaks at the last cycle when the rinse water is drained. it may be the drain pump, except it doesn't leak when the wash water is drained (2nd cycle)

If your machine has a tray that you put softener in, softener is the last thing added at rinse time. If it is plugged or has a leaking supply hose, this would cause water paddles and appear to be related to the drain cycle.

Water leaking in front load washing machine

In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged or the drain hose clamps can be loose on the grip which can all cause the leak to occur. Removing and cleaning the drain pump/valve, tightening of the hose is also very important. Also water can leak if there are gaps on the front door gaskets and must be checked but this will happen only during the cycle and not on the drain cycle end.

Leaking during wash from underneath

There is a possibility that the drain pump is leaking, may be the rubber gasket in the drain pump has gone bad. You can open the back panel of the machine and check if the water leaks just when the drain pump starts to drain out the water.
