Have you pulled the error codes?

1- Turn Ignition switch to OFF & Run/Stop switch is to Run.
2- Push odometer reset button in & hold.
3- Turn ignition switch to Ignition and release odometer reset button. Background lighting sould illuminate, speedometer needle should sweep its full range and indicator lamps (battery, security, low fuel, check engine and cruise) should illuminate. The word "diag" should then appear.
4 - Push the odometer reset button once and you will see the selection menu "PSSPt" with the first P flashing.
5 - Each letter represents an area of the diagnostics module. The module that is flashing is the one you are going to check. To move from one letter (module) to the next, you push the odometer reset button one time. (from P to S to SP to t and back to P, etc.)
P = ECM/ICM (Electronic Control Module [EFI] / Ignition Control Module [Carbureted])
S = TSM/TSSM (Turn Signal/ Turn Signal Security Module)
SP = speedometer
T = tachometer
6 - To get the DTC within an area of diagnostics, push and hold the odometer reset button in for 5 seconds and release. If there are any DTC's the code will be displayed or the word "none" will appear if there are no DTC's. Push the odometer reset button again to view additional codes if they exist.
7 - Record the codes.
8 - If DTC's are not to be cleared, Press and release the odometer reset button. Part number of module will be displayed.
NOTE: To determine if a code is current or historic, clear the displayed code by pushing in and holding the odometer reset button ( longer than 5 seconds) until 'clear' comes up. Release the odometer reset button. Turn OFF the ignition switch. Run your bike and shut it down then recheck the DTC's again by repeating steps 1 to 9. If the code is current it will reappear.
9 - Press and release the odometer reset button to continue to the next module.
10 - Turn Ignition switch to OFF.

SOURCE: check engine light on

Not much you can do at home since the bike is a FI model. Get a HD tech to pull the trouble codes with a scanner. At least you will have a starting point to diagnose the problem.

SOURCE: 2006 883 801 miles check engine light, engine sputters,

You are going to have to pull the trouble codes out of the computer. If you can't do it yourself, a dealer can. This will give you a starting point to diagnose the problem.

2000 Ford F-150 4x4 4.6 engine, automatic transmission. What are the symptoms for a vacuum leak intake manifold vacuum leak on it.

A vacuum leak in the intake manifold of a 2000 Ford F150 4x4 with a 4.6L engine and automatic transmission can cause a range of symptoms, including:
  1. Rough idle: A vacuum leak can cause the engine to run rough at idle, which may be especially noticeable when stopped at a red light or stop sign.
  2. Misfires: The engine may misfire or hesitate under load, such as when accelerating or climbing a hill.
  3. Poor fuel economy: A vacuum leak can cause the engine to run lean, which can result in decreased fuel economy.
  4. Check engine light: A vacuum leak can trigger a check engine light, which may indicate a code related to the engine's fuel system.
  5. Stalling: In some cases, a vacuum leak can cause the engine to stall or die, especially at idle or when coming to a stop.
  6. Hissing sound: A vacuum leak may cause a hissing sound to be audible from the engine compartment, especially if the leak is large or near the intake manifold.
If you suspect a vacuum leak, it's important to have it diagnosed and repaired as soon as possible, as it can cause damage to other engine components over time if left untreated. A mechanic can perform a smoke test or other diagnostic procedures to locate the source of the leak and repair it as needed.

Have your codes read. Autozone does it for free. Only then will you have an idea of where to start looking.

Check Engine light stays on. No other symptoms. If I reset the computer by disconnecting the battery, the check engine light eventually comes back on and stays on. Sometimes this takes weeks... sometimes...

you should have scan done for fault codes
but you could inspect the throttle body for carbon deposits and clean as required first and see how it goes

2003 Silverado rough idle, idles good after "check engine" light

Check your o2 sensor voltage, those trucks are real bad for o2 sensors, and yes if one sensor is reading 0mv, the others will start to drop out, and the vehicle will run very, rough. You also may check fuel system pressure, should be almost 60p.s.i. If its alot lower, Id be looking into a fuel pump. If that vehicle is drive-by-wire (no throttle cable), the throttle bodies get very dirty and cause that concern also. Id start by having the vehicle scantested.
