Probable cause is either a bad fill valve, common with these, or just some debris in the fill valve inlet screen, also common. If you are handy you can take apart the fill valve and check the screen but often one needs to replace the whole valve, about an $80 part + labor. Double check your valve under the sink and make sure it is on completely.

Unclear what your dishwasher model is. Check the codes on page 37 onwards of this manual to confirm. Most likely it is a drain problem. Ensure the kitchen drain is clear and drain hose is not blocked.

Most Viking models have overflow safety feature that turns the dishwasher into drain mode. The idea is to remove overflow water from the bottom pan. Check the pan behind kick toe panel for water, remove the water and check for leaks. If no water check overflow switch somewhere in the pan, it maybe stuck. Good luck

My Viking DFUD042 is stuck in drain cycle while fresh water is entering the dishwasher through the grid on the right side. The pump is working continuously and it only stops after I turn off the power. ...

Hi, this could be a bad control board or a bad motor. It uses the same motor to wash as to drain. It just changes the direction of the motor in order to switch from drain to wash.
You'll need to run a cycle and you will need a multimeter to check which one needs to be replaced. Remove the kick panel and check the grey wire to the ground wire when it should be washing. If you have 120 volts, you need to order and replace your control board. Otherwise, if you don't have power and it's still draining, you need to order and replace the motor.

You probably have a leak, in the pump housing area below the unit, which is causing the drain pump to run continuously.

Eaton viking dishwasher

it may not be the pump.if it leaks when you run a wash cycle then the pump seal may be bad but if it only leaks when you drain it,it seems that its a drain hose/piping connection.
