I have a archos clipper and ive lost the cable where can I buy a new one its usb to jack

Start by downloading the manual from the manufacturer's web site at
http://www.archos.com/support/download/manuals/Clipper_EN_FR_DE.pdf

That is because USB drives were not available in 1999/2000 when XP came out and there are limited drivers for them.
See if there is a driver on archos.com

I have the same problem when I try and copy tunes from my Mac. If you go into the archos file you can see them but cannot play them. How did you solve it?

You have to plug it into the computer with the usb cable that came with it. Watch for the red led light to stop blinking. Computer must be turned on to charge.

just attached the usb cable to mp3 player and put in2 computer to charge for couple of hrs

You should try to only chare your Archos only when it is completely dead and charge it fully then the battery will be regular

The charger which came with my Gmini 220 is 5V DC, 1.6A. It measures about 5.18V. The +5V is applied to the normally unused pin on the USB connector. The charger's plug is built so you and plug the charger into the Gmini and then plug the USB cable into the charger.
