1. download microsoft security essentials install that (its a free antivirus from microsoft) run it and remove viruses. After that download and install malwarebytes anti malware free version. Run that to get rid of the rest of the junk. To reset computer to factory insert the operating system disc and reinstall everything. IF its window 8 you can refresh your computer without reinstalling everythign

formatting should be the last thing to think of.

  1. Try and get an external IDE case
  2. Fix the your computers hard disk inside
  3. Connect it to another computer with an updated antivirus preferably AVAST
  4. scan your hard disk drive an delete all the virus present
  5. Now fix your hard disk into your computer
  6. Now insert an XP OS cd into your Cd rom Drive and make sure you set the boot option to boot from it
  7. following the installation instruction
  8. the computer will ask you to repair for the 1st time, ignore it by choosing "continue"
  9. On the second repair option
  10. You will have to choose to repair your OS

Apparently your model of laptop doesn't have a recovery partition. You're going to have to get out the Dell Operating System CD for your laptop, boot to the CD and reinstall Windows the old fashioned way. Make sure the product key on the laptop case is handy.

shut down windows and restart tap F8 untill you enter the installation, make sure you back all the drivers onto a disk before doing this

You don't necessarily have to wipe a computer to fix a virus (not usually anyway) try malwarebytes.org for the best malware scanner and/or avg for a great antivirus scanner. If you do need to wipe it then you will either need a Dell restore CD or Dell may have a hidden partition that you can get to, in order to do a restore. Check the Dell.com website for your make and model of netbook for more info.

Hi,

You can try to run a full virus scan in Safe Mode. To access it, you will either press F8, or Del (depends on what key was designed on your computer to access the Advanced Boot Options), after getting the Advanced Boot Options, select Safe Mode an press Enter key.

If your antivirus software cannot detect any virus, it was either not updated or was disabled by the virus. You need to contact your antivirus company to get help with manual virus deletion.

However, if you don't have any antivirus installed I suggest to just wipe everything off from the harddrive and start from factory settings.

3. Confirm you want to restore the factory settings. The computer will begin restoring all settings. Don't disturb your computer, as this process can take several hours. .
4. Reboot the computer to complete the process.

Try system restore first and check if that will remove the virus but if not then you can reset the machine to factory defaults by pressing ALT+F10 during start up or when the acer logo appears on your screen.Follow the prompts and you should be able to reset the computer to factory image.Make sure you back up important files because it will wipe the system clean.hope this helps...
