Mitsubishi DLP light sensor

I have a Mitsubishi 65" DLP Model WD65C10. I blew a lamp and ordered a new one but now the colors flicker when the set heats up for a couple minutes. Some research lead me to believe I need to replace the light sensor (GP2S40) I've got a new one but I am unsure of its orientation on the board. The sensor has 2 dot on the bottom towards one side.

No the board youre refering to is the Power PWB which is encased inside the metal chassis block. You can get the kit that is for your model that has the capacitors and step by tep instructions on how to disassemble the chassis to accesss the Power Pwb. Heres the link to the kit you need if the lamp led is red.

SOURCE: hi, I have a Mitsubishi wd-57733 dlp tv that shuts down

Ballast is possible if repeated lamp failure but I have a solution I posted several times for this type of problem that works and is simple to try:

When you put the old lamp back in did the picture look OK? If so why did you replace to begin with? Yes, there are some poorly manufactured lamps out there, where did you obtain the replacement? Was it true OEM?

My Mitsubishi WD-65638 turns on then flickers and turns off?

Flickering must be due to the fault to lamp itself. If you wish to get more details, check this link.

Buzzing/humming noise won't stop. Lamp was replaced a year ago. This just started and the noise is near the lamp. The noise won't stop while the TV is on and lasts for a minute when the TV...

If its a DLP with a high pitched or even fan like sound it is the color wheel--Mitsubishi does not sell them as a part---you would have to replace the entire light engine (expensive and may not be available any more on a older set) .

Mitsubishi startted flickering, then screen went black and red light on

If it is the lamp light blinking it may mean the lamp is bad--did you do the self check as suggested?

Replaced lamp in my mitsubishi wd 60638 dlp but now I have a flickering picture

Sounds like a new lamp that is generic (not Mitsubishi) as the set does not know which lamp is in the set--works with one and not the other you have found your problem.

My lamp on my Mitsubishi WD65733 DLP TV actually blew up while I was watching it (kablooey). So, I bought a new lamp and replaced it. Now, the picture and sound comes on for about 30 seconds then it turns...

No check for bad capacitors on Power supply board they will be vented swollen or puffed up on top.
Go to Encompass Parts Distribution and look up your Model number.

Dlp has no picture only flickering lamp & timer lights.

Verify color wheel is reconnected, color wheel needs to get up to speed before lamp strikes
