Janome 350e embroidery machine is saying "short of memory space the file cannot be saved".

When trying to open up a file saved on a usb the machine is saying 'short of memory space the file cannot be saved' and then freezes up. I have to restart machine to operate again. I have already emptied the usb once and formatted with my Janome.

Sounds like a usb port problem. Try another usb stick first.

Does this machine have a low shank --- or high shank?

High Shank Machines are all the Janome Embroidery models MC 8000, MC 9000, 10000, 10001, 11000, 200E, 300E, 350E....etc
If yours is not an embroidery machine, it has a LOW SHANK .....the higher shank allows for easier access for the embroidery hoop

Janome 350E suddenly stopped reading the USB stick. As soon as I select My Design it shuts down and restarts over and over again. What could be wrong?

Your space is not formatted correctly to the size of the hoop. For example if the hoop is 5x7 your design has to fit within that space, and the space cannot be bigger than 5x7. Strange but true and it will fix the reboot and shut down issue.

Downloading embroidary designs for the Janome MC 350E

Firstly, format your compact flash card on your embroidery machine. This is presuming you have embroidery files in your jef format your machine reads on your computer. Place your compact flash in the compact flash card reader writer connected to your computer, open the compact flash card in your computer, open the file emb5. Now you can simply copy and paste a design from your computer to your flash card. It works for me. Goodluck.
