Hello Dan, I am happy to assist you!

Did your refrigerator previously experience a power loss? If the temperature of food rises to an unsafe level, the buzzer will sound and the red light, if equipped, will also glow. First, deactivate the alarm to your appliance by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on your appliance. After deactivating the alarm and your refrigerator has run approximately four hours, the red light/alarm should go off on its own. If the red light/alarm continues to stay on, your freezer may possibly have a communication problem with the control board, temperature control or a wiring harness. If this is the case, I would recommend connecting with an experienced technician to determine the underlying cause.

Testimonial: "The unit has not been on for weeks and when I first turned it on it was just a beep then a small red light at the bottom of the control came on with a number 4 displayed. The freezer would not start running. It looks like a bad control unite to me but before I spend the money I want to be sure."

Error code b on kenmore chest freezer

LOW / NO BATTERY ALARM
The Low/No battery alarm will activate when the
power level of the battery becomes low. The display
will alternate between "b" (Battery, See figure 8) and
the cabinet temperature, the red alarm light will
become illuminated and the control panel will beep
every five seconds. To stop the audible alarm (beep),
press the "ALARM RESET" button. The red alarm
light will remain on and the display will continue to
flash until a new battery is installed. This same alarm
will activate if there is no battery installed

Is there a recall on control board?

That is usually a signal meaning the door switch is being sensed as open... Make sure the light goes off when you press the switch, if it does, buy a new control... OR remove the control and break the little round speaker off of the board to quiet that thing.

Frigidaire freezer M# ffu17f5hwh, is there a recall on control board?

Hello friend, thanks for the post!

I see that the red light stays on and your Frigidaire freezer continues to beep. From what I have researched there is no recall on the control board of FFU17F5HWH. You could try resetting your appliance, which could be done by unplugging the power cord or flipping the household circuit breaker in the off position for ten minutes. Please comment back I would like to know if this information has been helpful. I look forward to your post. -Matt

My upright freezer won't get cold. We unplugged

Hi, when you defrosted this upright, did you use hot water or a heat gun to do this? No sharp pointed objects at all? I'm sorry to ask that, but have to as I have seen this many times ending in a tiny hole in the evaporator coil and loosing all of the freon over night. Nothing but the small condenser fan would be on. With the lights on we know there is 120 volts to the unit. If the freezer fan is not on it's because it is temperature operated and comes on at a certain factory set temperature. Sounds like it may well be the thermostat control inside not calling for cooling. It will have an aluminum long probe on it that senses the box temperature. The control that raises and lowers the box setting. Check to see if it is working by turning it slowly colder and see if you hear a very light click at all? This is what brings this system on and shuts it off when satisfied. The unit may be stuck in the defrost position not letting it come on. It may also be the defrost thermostat that is located in behind the panel inside the unit, back panel along with the defrost heaters. This box should go into defrost on its own and you should not have to defrost it. For now, concentrate on the thermostat control. If you can't get it to start, unplug it and try pulling this stat out just enough to see if something has come loose as a wire. This does happen. There is not a lot that you can check on your own. I am trying to give you some ideas according to what you have said that happened. So, if you know there is no way you may have chipped away at the ice and put a small hole anywhere, we know you have freon in the system. If you can get to the wires on the stat, you can test it with a jumper wire if you have a piece of 12 to 14ga. insulated wire laying around. If so, pull it out enough to see the wire terminals. Be careful as you will be plugging it back in!! I don't want you to take a shock, so please be careful. I know you can do this safely. Now, just take one end...make sure both are stripped and hold it on a terminal by the insulated part. Take the other end and depending on how many terminals it has, touch it to all, but the green ground wire terminal, one at a time and see if it starts. You will see it spark but don't panic this is normal. If it starts and runs, that control is bad and will need to be replaced. You can get all the numbers, serial, model, name and all and get one at a appliance parts house. If the unit does not start, contact me by my user name and we will go deeper into it. I believe it will be this control. Best of luck,
Sincerely,

WHIRLPOOL UNDER WORKTOP FREEZER APPROX 11 YEARS OLD BEEPING

the temperature control is bad. when you push the fast freeze it bypasses the thermostat for 12-24 hours depending on which model you have. I am not able to find any parts information with the model number provided but you should be able to find a temperature control at any local appliance parts house or online thru any reputable supplier. Frigidaire Upright freezer with Beeping Display

First make sure you have a good 9v battery installed. If it is ok then the problem will probably be in the display board or the wiring connectors between the boards. CE is communication error. If your model has the electronic tempature control instead of mechanical thermostat the problem could be in there. My bet is a bad connection at display board.
