Location of memory slots in a Compaq Presario SR1110NX desktop?

I want to increase my computer's memory capacity, and I have a new memory card for my Compaq Presario SR1110NX, but I don't know where to install it. I don't know where the memory slots are located because I've never installed a memory chip before. Thanks for your help.

SOURCE: iNSTALLING A NEW MEMORY CARD

first check your new memory if its compatible with you computer or motherboard. then just insert it gently and correctly. you will see on your new memory that it has cut that to be inserted on the middle of the slot of the motherboard's memory interface. try to check this one also

if you are planning to install SLI video cards...make sure you have enough expansion slot for your card..
check your computer Specification in HP website

Since you are Using AMD CPU, its better to get ATI chipset Video Card

SOURCE: what type of memory is needed for Compaq Presario SR1110NX?

If you ctrl-alt-delete and view processes in task manager you might try to isolate anything that may be running in the background and using up alot of your RAM. It may also be indicative that you have some type of malware; maybe try to run the freeware programs spybot or adaware and remove any virii found.

If you want new RAM it looks like you need to go for PC2700 DDR SDRAM DIMMs; your computer can hold a maximum of 2 GB.

You may find some RAM on eBay for relatively cheap; if you want it new I would goto memorystock http://www.memorystock.com/memory/CompaqPresarioSR1110NX.html

Good Luck!

What is a good video card to use in a Compaq Presario SE1110NX? The onboard video will not handle newer graphics.

If you need just an basic card for video then any card with over 64Mb will do.
if you need something for gaming or high graphics then go with something over 128-256MB.
Of course if you are going with something that demands more video memory...once you get the card of your choice installed then disable the onboard video to give memory back to the computer.
Go into BIOS (Setup menu from bootup) and disable onboard video.
I would also add more memory to the computer...max it out if you can ...especially if you will be doing games.

After I upgraded RAM from 512 MB to 2 G, my computer can not resume from stand by mode.

1.Do you know what the Maximum TOTAL Amount is for your ram?
2.Do you know what the Maximum Amount is for EACH ram slot?
3.What is the computer manufacturers name, model name, and model number?
(Example: Compaq Presario SR1110NX.
Compaq: Computer manufacturers name
Presario: Model Name
SR1110NX: Model Number

(Not trying to insult your intelligence with Number 3 above)

Reason for asking Number 3?
Let's take an example. Let's say your computer has a Maximum Total Amount for ram memory, that is 2GB.
EACH ram slot's Maximum Amount is 1GB, and you have two ram slots.
If you install a single stick of 2GB ram in Slot 1, chances are it isn't going to work.

If I know what computer you're referring to here, then I can give more of an exacting solution.
