Paper jam (missfeed) message when using the printer hp psc 1510 all-in-one

Just put in a new printer ink. cant print anymore. Message is paper jam(missfeed). Am sure no paper in printer. Red light blinking under check paper, check print cartridge

    everything works but will not put ink on paper

    No paper jam, changed toner and red light is still on and we cannot print. Also noticed that when turning on printer no booting sound that is normally makes

    Lifted the lid to check for paper jam and now it will not go down. There is a latch there but it does not appear to have any sort of release button.

    I just printed one doc, but now the printer says the cartridge is jammed. When I open the top, the cartridge slides smoothly to the side by itself.

HP are notorious for this sort of error reporting, not very helpful at all.

On your first point; Is the cartridge an original HP cartridge? If it is then remove it and re insert it pushing it home firmly. If not then either get a cartridge from a reputable clone supplier or use a genuine HP one.

Next point; Inspect the paper route minutely for debris and identify and clean the paper switch, which is a tiny micro-switch and can become jammed closed just with paper dust.

clean the rubber rollers of the printer and try to print. if it is still having the same problem. reset the printer by unplugging the power cord of the printer while its turn on. then plug the power cord back in. once the printer is on press and hold the power/on button and the size button. when the on button is flashing then release the buttons and try to print again

Turn off alignment feature
After you install new ink cartridges or attach the printer to a different computer it will go through this exercise. Make sure you also do the next step... a scan of what you printed-out; or you'll get that message every time.

Test printing made every time when the machine (HP PSC 1510) turned on.
Hi,

I used to have the same problem with the 1510 and other HP models. The solution is not to have any paper in the tray when you turn it on. When the error flashes up, hold the cancel/resume button (it will be flashing orange on the printer) until all activity ceases in the printer. You can then cancel the message on the PC and load the paper when you are ready to print.

Hi, try using HP brand photo paper, HP makes their special photo printers and special photo paper for them.
The surface of the back of the HP's paper is rough, like sandpaper to avoid the paper being jammed in the cheap loading mechanism of their actual printers.
