SOURCE: battery power on mobility scooter

The Hand Control has probably bent in from use. ( Where she Pushes the throttle Control )
Grab a hold of it and bend it out towards you slightly
The part about the indicator going down when she moves and back up when she stops is normal

SOURCE: Problems with Pride Celebrity X 4-Wheel Electric

It is often a damaged accelerator (Potentiometer). Sometimes the shaft on the wigwag breaks the contacts in the accelerator from being moved too vigorously when going over a bump too fast. A technician would need to repair this for you. Happy scooting. Regards Chris… [email protected]

SOURCE: The battery takes a charge, but will not power scooter

This scooter require two batteries, not one. It is usually a good idea to replace both batteries at the same time, even though one is obviously bad, and the other "seems" okay. These 12 volt DC batteries (VDC) work in tandem to produce the 24 volts that the scooter operates on. In a perfect world, they would both live a long and happy life, but reality is that some die young, others old. Since they are joined together, the one that's going out saps the life out of the other one, so take a bullet and replace both batteries. Make sure you completely charge the scooter when you get the new ones in. Verify that your charger is working properly. To properly charge the 24 VDC system, the chargers have to have an output of about 26-28VDC. The output must be higher than the rated voltage of the two batteries put together to charge. While you have the shell off the scooter, you can see if the charger is working by measuring across the terminal on each battery with the charger off. Note the meter reading. It should be 12-13 VDC. Put it on the charger and retake the reading, and each battery should show an increase in the voltage due to the boost from the charger. After three hours, each battery should show about a 13.5 VDC reading which should hold above 12 for a good 8-10 miles. Always charge your batteries overnight, and if not in use, disconnect them completely with a full charge on the batteries.

2. Choose a socket and wrench of the appropriate size to fit the bolt holding the wheel in place.
3. Remove the bolt all the way and then slide the wheel off.

The shroud is usually velcroed into place and can easily be detached. Lift it off and put safely to one side.

Noise on back axle

Is the noise like a stone stuck in the tyre? If so, I think you have a dry axle, a common problem with Pride scooters and easily rectified. Simply remove the rear wheels, apply grease to the axle shafts, and re-fit the wheels. This should solve your problem. If it's a different type of noise, the problem may lie within the transaxle which would unfortunately involve a costly repair or most likely a replacement transaxle.

Rubbing noise rear end but not all the time

Hi.Most scooters use a steel key in each rear hub to drive the wheels. These often get noisy. As the wheel turns the weight is put on the key and then comes of as the wheel keeps turning making a noise each revolution of the wheel. To repair remove the rear wheels and wipe a thin smear of grease onto the axle and key. This will reduce the noise. Hint, loosen the bolts holding the wheel on before raising the rear end to remove the wheels. If you place a support or block of timber under the machine, be careful of the motor brush holders.
Other noises could be gearbox gears worn.
Good luck. Neil.
