Crosley Dryer Heats then stops

My Crosley dryer cde6000w was not producing heat to dry the clothes. After cleaning the vents and fumbling with wires, the heating element stays on for approx. 10 seconds then shuts off for 30+ seconds throughout the cycle. I'm trying to figure if it's the element, any one thermostat, and where that thermostat could be exactly. I can view these parts by opening the top or front but have no manual.

Crosley CDE7500W electric clothes dryer does not heat at all. Blowing cold air throughout.

my dryer overheated and shut off. I have cleaned the vent that comes out of the dryer and gave it time to cool off then I pushed the control to start it but nothing happens. the model # is CDE6000W, the serial # is 10958306AA and the Rev. is 10. Does this dryer have a kill switch or a reset button or have I totally blown it? Please help!

If im thinking right, this dryer has the element in the top left corner.  This unit has two thermostats, one mounted right above the element, and the other in the lower left front mounted on the fan housing.  The one in the front is called the high limit thermostat, which means when it gets to a preset high temp, it cuts off the system until cooling occurs.  The top thermostat, mounted above the element is the operating thermostat.  It probably is one of the two thermostats.  Its a very good idea to replace not only both of the thermostats, but the fuse as well.  The fuse kit (Maytag Part# LA-1053) comes with a thermostat and 2 fuses, be sure to follow he instructions on how to determine the fuse for electric and gas.  The high limit thermostat (Maytag Part# 53-0771) is an easy replacement.  Something is causing the unit to short cycle.  Sometimes you can hot-wire the operating thermostat (use caution, severe caution if doing this, not recommended if you arent sure whats going on).  By doing this (removing the two wires from the thermostat, taping them together), you can watch and see if the element stays on longer, at least until the high limit switch comes on.  This is really not recommended, if the high limit is out, it will not be good.  Just easier to replace them both.

Thermostat and fuse has been changed in dryer. Still taking a very long time to dry clothes. Model is an electric Crosley cde6000w.

remove the vent tube and start the dryer, you should feel hot air, most of the time it is a restriction in the vent tube, sometimes below the lint trap gets clogged too. If no hot air is coming out or very little then you will need to disassemble the unit, here is a website in case you need to take apart the dryer, Tim:

We have a Kenmore 400 Series dryer. It heats up but our clothes is not getting dry. We have to cycle it twice to get our clothes dry on high heat. Any idea why it would take 2 cycles to dry?

This was the out vent of my dryer... If it gets this bad... open up the dryer housing and clean inside too. Also make sure the intake is free of lint.

Taking long time to dry the clothes

Due to a dryer either heats or no heat , I would suggest pulling the dryer out and removing the vent hose . Dry a load of clothes to see if they dry normally . If they do , this verifys that the vent hose is either kinked ( restricting air flow ) , or , if the vent runs UP inside the wall , there is a restriction between the inside vent hose to the outside vent . May have to go into the attic to clean .

My electric dryer heats up but doesnt dry the clothes

If your vent hose is more than about ten feet long, your dryer may not have enough pressure to keep the air moving sufficiently to dry the clothes. Is it possible you are simply over loading your dryer?

Wed9200sq0 heats, tumbles but does not dry at any heat setting

You are correct. Pull the dryer out and disconnect your venting from the back of the dryer. Turn your dryer on and check to make sure your dryer is blowing air out of the dryer duct. If it is then leave your dryer out at least 2 ft from the wall and run a load of clothes through the dryer. If it dries your clothes normally then you have a venting restriction. Check to make sure your venting is clean, not kinked or smashed, make sure your outside vent is opening an doesn.t have something blocking it. Check your lint screen filter by running water through it. If water is not flowing through it, you have a build up of fabric softener on your screen, blocking air flow. Scrub your screen off and test again. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Dryer air heats up but does not dry the clothes. Just replaced the timer but did not fix the problem. Air vents are cleared.

One of two possiblities:

1. Dryer vent is blocked - check the air coming through the outside vent
2. Blower Fan is clogged - remove the lower front panel and clean out the fan wheel
