I have a NEXTAR 512Mb Mp3 player(white), that quit working.(yes, it's an antique..LOL) It began by indicating "low battery"(even when fresh battery installed), then just quit all together. No start-up, no battery indicator...nothing. It plays through computer USB port, but that I understand. So, my first question is- Where can I find a troubleshooting manual w/illustrations #2. Is it worth fixing? (I know that question begs "opinion") If possible, could you reply to: [email protected] THANK YOU!!

I had this problem myself. The solution is to take a fine, rigid object, like a paper clip, and use it to press the "reset" button, which is located just above the USB adapter on the device, and clearly marked.

SOURCE: Mp3 Player Won't Charge
wiggle your usb cord - I had to wiggle mine a bit where it plugs into the usb port in the computer before it was recognized and listed as a device in 'my computer'. only then did it actually start charging; if your computer is not recognizing it is plugged in, it may not charge.. when i finally figured this out, the actual charging of my 4 gig audiophase mps only took 10 minutes- previously i was trying to charge it for hours without any luck.

I have that kind of Mp3 Player too... that happened to me, but the PC was able to read mine. However, the reason why the message: "Low Battery USB Disabled" appears, is that you still have remaining battery life, but will only last for less than an hour (indicated by low light and red empty battery sign) you have to make sure the Mp3 is completely discharged. (you'll be notified when you turn on the device while it says: "Low Battery") once that it is completely discharged, you can now plug in the USB cable with the device to the PC... if problem persists, check your PC.. can it read the device? Check if a notification balloon appears at the bottom right corner of the monitor screen. It should say, "Found New Hardware... Samsung YP-Z5F..." if it did not appear, try to INSTALL using the Installation CD given when you bought the product. Just insert the disk into the PC and continue on, then when it is already installed and ready for use, plug in the device! This may be a little hard, but this is the only way I know. Feel free to ask me! I am no technician but I know a lot on devices and fine mechanics. Good luck!
