SOURCE: Ariston LS 620 A Dishwasher

Since, the pump doesn't stop working, it sound like a water level switch issue. The switch level is usually a diaphragm device with a small clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. I am not familiar with this specific machine, but if you will open the rear panel you will find it easily. Clear tube first from any obstruction, In case it doesn't help, disconnect the wires from the unit (you should disconnect first machine's power cable !!!!!) and measure with a multi-meter on its tugs for continuity and disconnection while you are inhale and blow to its tube. In case it doesn't react, you should replace it. Good luck !

The fill valve is probably stuck in the full position. It's at the bottom of the tub and looks like a small tube with a cap on it. You should be able to move the cap up and down easily.

SOURCE: Indesit dishwasher sump keeps filling up with water when turned on

I had a similar problem every time i bailed the sump out by hand and turned the machine back on it would fill the sump or just shut off.

Having spent ages checking various site it boiled down to one of three things there is a thermostat switch underneath they are know to go on the indesits and cost next to nothing to replace

second cause and most probable is to take machine outside before you do this front cover below front door removes to give access to pump you ll know it the pump because it has a pipe rinning into it and one out on my indesit i turned it upside down and got really easy access to it comes of easily take it to pices bit by bit really easy probably need small allun key depends on model check put for foreign objects , spinx blackpool rock etec etc only kidding it might be a bit of plastic or something that stop the spindle turning freely inside the pump if you find anything clean put back and off you go if pump is knackered you can get them off the web for 4.95
last but not least is the problem that mine actually had in the end and the easiest to fix `water pressure` if there is insufficient water pressure the machine regognised this and activate a shut off valve the machine lights flash you can reset the programme but it still does nt work. take the water pipe off the back put it into a bucket and open the valve you ll now what good pressure looks like mine was poor when i took the adjacent kitchen unit out it transpired a shut off vavle had been placed on the pipework the vavle had never been opened fully by the plumber and was restricting the water supply . take your time dont rush and be methodical take advantage of a local parts supplier ash them what most repairers will do first. it can be very rewarding to find that a/ you can do it and b/youve saved 60 or 70 quid in the process.

ps never mess with the machine whilst connected to the mains or spiky hair might come free with the repair and do take the machine outside or you ll have water evrywhere trust me

SOURCE: GE Profile PDW7300, Leaves 2 - 3 inches of dirty water in bottom

check for a clogged discharge hose where it connects to the plumbing under the sink...this is the most common area for a clog. if no restriction is found, the discharge valve will need to be tested

The 4th green light on my Ariston dishwasher flashes. What does this mean?

You did not mention what model number that you had but this is what I found after a little digging:

From http://servicetechhelp.com/discus/messages/2801/6823.html?1205974228 :
For future reference, the technician who replaced the control board for me gave me a complete list of flashing LED fault codes for the Ariston LL65 (which are same as Ariston LL64):

001000 Float Switch: Water in Base Pan
001100 No Drain: Dranin Motor Disabled, Filters Clogged, Dramin Hose Blocked
001010 Main Motor Presure Switch Blocked Filter
100100 Control Board: Software of Control Board not Recognized.
000100 Water Valve: Water Valve Diabled <--- This one sounds like your error
000110 Fill Fault: Water Valve Disabled, Turbine Disabled or Control Board
000101 Heating Element disabled or High Limit Open or Control Board
000010 NTC defective or not positioned or control board
000001 NTC defective or not positioned or control board

KEY: 0 = LED off
1 = LED flashing

I also found this for a different model:
http://www.diybanter.com/home-ownership/89945-resetting-controller-ariston-dishwasher.html
No Program Code Fault condition
1 Heavy wash 1000 Operation of flood

2 Normal wash 0100 Heating

3 Rapid wash 0010 Drain pump fault or drain

Is water suppose to stay in the sump pump of a ge potscrubber dishwasher. The water drains except in the very bottom where I guess the pump is. There is lots of mildew and I have lots of grit on my...

Yes water does stay in the sump all the time. This is normal.

Try running a cycle with a cup of Vinegar or Baking Soda in the dishwasher.

Also check to make sure that your drain line (under the sink) is higher than the sink drain and not allowing some sink drain seepage back into the dishwasher.

Ariston LI 640 A problem.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your Ariston dishwasher. From your description, it seems like the dishwasher is not draining properly, which can cause the water to remain in the dishwasher at the end of the cycle.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check the drain hose: Make sure that the drain hose is not clogged or kinked. If the hose is kinked, straighten it out to allow the water to flow freely. If it's clogged, remove the blockage.
2. Check the filter: The dishwasher has a filter that can become clogged with food debris. Clean the filter to ensure that it's not causing the issue.
3. Check the garbage disposal: If your dishwasher is connected to a garbage disposal, make sure that the disposal is clear of any clogs or blockages.
4. Check the pump: The dishwasher's pump may be malfunctioning, preventing water from draining properly. If this is the case, you may need to replace the pump.

none of these steps solves the problem, it may be best to call a professional to diagnose and fix the issue.
