The main area that you have to clean is the pipe leading from the back of your dryer to outdoors. Pull your dryer away from the wall. Unplug it. Unfasten the vent pipe. Now look into the back of the dryer exhaust and remove any lint you see there then look into the vent pipe and remove any lint. Finally go outdoors and remove any lint you see in the pipe or the pipe grill/cover.

Taking two cycles to dry one load , the brand is maytag performa heavy duty

Hi,

If your
dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.

I have a maytag performa electric dryer model #pye2300ayw, rev 10 -- sometimes I need to run the dryer 3-4 times to get a load dried. I checked the outside vent and there is alot of hot air coming out, the...

We had this same problem recently. Don't know if your problem is the same, but I am sure it could be.
While we did have hot air coming from the outside vent, it was still a restricted vent duct that was our problem. I went to Lowes and bought a dryer vent cleaning kit for about $40 (I figured I needed to do this anyway, as I'd been hearing about how many housefires are caused by the heat buildup from poorly breathing vent tubes/ducts), and cleaned the whole length of the duct (and replaced the plastic flexi-tube inside with a metal one).
I had thought I had good air-flow before doing this, but oh my gosh, what a difference this made! And I couldn't believe the pile of nasty, damp lint that came out!!
Anyway, our dryer immediately went from requiring 2-3 cycles to dry a load of clothes, to doing a great job the first time through! Perhaps the same solution would help you. I hope so!

Maytag performa dryer model pye2300ayw, what should the ohms reading be on the thermal fuse?

doesn't matter,it's either good or bad, when you touch the meter to it if it reads 1 and doen't move it's bad if you get any reading it's good,if the dryer is loaded with lint in the duct that the lint filter slides into and the vent line is blocked it will keep popping on you, clean out the dryer, number one cause for popping the thermal fuse

MY MAYTAG DRYER PYE2300AYW TAKES 2 CYCLES TO DRY THE CLOTHES

I would imagine your vent duct needs cleaning. We recently had the same problem and a duct cleaning kit from Lowes (about $40) took us from what felt like 'reasonable' airflow outside to "oh-my-gosh, what a difference!!", and left an astonishing pile of nasty, damp lint on the ground out there...
There's a good chance the same treatment would do the same for you. Hope it helps!

Electric drier takes 2 to 3 cycles to dry one normal size load

Have you tried cleaning the actual inside of the drier?
When you use drier sheets the wax on the sheets melts onto your clothes and makes them soft, but the wax often gets stuck in the holes of the drier making it incapable of drying the clothes in one load. Try scrubbing the inside of your drier with some hot water.

Maytag performa model#pyg2300aww takes four cycles to dry

how long is dryer vent run ? does it go up or out to the side ? Sounds like the dryer vent is clogged. A long run on your vent will also cause this problem with a small amount of lint. Try cleaning out your lint screen on the dryer vent they can get pretty caked up with lint. If you have a long dryer vent run post back the length and direction and I will get you the maximum length for your specific run. You may need a booster fan if it is excessively long or straight up as through the roof.

My Whirlpool Clean Touch electric dryer is not drying clothes very well. It is not getting real hot, and it takes two cycles to get most things dry. Towels and jeans take part of a third to dry. I clean...

IF YOUR DRYER HEATS AT ALL, BUT WON'T DRY THE CLOTHES, 99 PERCENT OF THE TIME THERE IS A RESTRICTION IN THE AIR FLOW. PULL THE EXHAUST OFF OF THE BACK OF THE DRYER AND DRY ONE LOAD. IF IT DRIES O.K., THERE IS A RESTRICTION IN THE DUCT WORK.
CLEAN OUT THE LINT FROM THE DUCT WORK. IF THE DUCT WORK IS FLEXIBLE MATERIAL, REPLACE IT WITH RIGID 4 INCH METAL DUCT.
