Mustec scanner I tried installing my Mustek with the software on hand and was asked to load second c.d. I only had one. Can any one help/ provide further info. Thanks

Disconnect scanner from computer, uninstall the software you installed and restart the computer.
Download the latest driver software from: http://www.mustek.com/mustek/Support.php
Install the driver software but do not connect the scanner until the installation prompts you to connect it or when the installation is complete.

Mustek 1248UB Scanner is Win 7 (x86 & x64) compatilbe, you can use the "Vista drivers" to install the scanner.

Hi,
When is tah last time you can scan with your scanner? You can always try to uninstall and reinstall the software of the scanner to fix the problem with scanning. and if there is an available update for teh software or firmware of teh device try to do so. ok?.

There could be problem because there are no official drivers for Vista only for Windows XP, but anyway it is possible to install drivers in Windows Vista compatibility mode. Steps to archive this are:

1. Download latest driver for scanner through this link http://www.mustek.com/mustek/supportdrivers.php
2. After extracting a drivers right click on setup and chose compatibility tab
   
3. Look at pic bellow
   

Be sure to follow the following instructions exactly.

Also, be sure to unplug the scanner and uninstall the software.

On top of going tohttp://www.mustek.com.tw/Download/driv_scanr/europe/1200ubplus.html foryour drivers, insure that you follow my instructions or theinstructions that they give you. Otherwise it will be a pain in therear end to set up on XP. (For Windows 98/ME/2000 users there is aseparate set of instructions on the site).

1. Download ftp://ftp.mustek.com.tw/pub/driver/1200UBPlus/98-XP/12LV12/1200ubplusv12.EXE
2. Download ftp://ftp.mustek.com.tw/pub/driver/Library/V13/up_libv13.EXE
3. DO NOT plug in your scanner before installing the two sets of software above.
4. Run 1200ubplusv12.exe and let it restart your computer when it finishes.
5. Run up_libv13.exe and also let it restart your computer.
6. Now you can plug in your scanner.
7. A dialog box should appear asking you if you would like to find a driver via Windows Update. Select No.
8. Another dialog box should appear asking you the method for finding the correct driver. Select Install Automatically.
9. If it shows two drivers select the one with a manufacturers name (the second one for me).

NOTE: The driver is not digitally signed. However, it should not harm your computer in anyway.

You can find the drivers for your scanner on Mustek website
Just choose Category (scanner), Series (BearPaw Series) and Model (BearPaw 1200CS), then choose one of the drivers shown on the list

There doesn't appear to be a driver for Vista if that is what you want.
